"Lewis, Lennox (Lennox Claudis Lewis), 1965–, British-Canadian boxer. Born in London, England, to Jamaican parents, Lewis had a troubled childhood and followed his mother to Canada at the age of 12. Taking up boxing, he became World Junior Champion at 17 and represented (1984, 1988) Canada in Olympics, winning the heavyweight gold against Riddick Bowe in 1988. Moving back to England, he turned professional and was awarded the World Boxing Council (WBC) title in 1993 after Bowe, the titleholder, refused to defend it. Lewis lost the WBC title in 1994 but regained three years later, and in Nov., 1999, unified the heavyweight titles by defeating Evander Holyfield (they had fought to a controversial draw in March). Although Lewis lost his titles to Hasim Rahman in Apr., 2001, a November rematch restored Lewis as champion. He successfully defended against Mike Tyson in 2002, and was generally regarded as the world heavyweight champion until he retired in 2004."

Canadian Radio interview after he won.

This is how I see it. He was on loan, you know, like when you turn up at a pick up or local league game and the other team is short a player, you loan them one. I have never thought of Lewis as anything but a Brit.

Such nonsense deserves some kind of recognition.

Well, at least you didnt say “Stevan Redgrave” or any other football playing twat. Maybe in a few years for Wilkinson.

According to the top statement Lewis is retired, I think its incorrect, but if its true we cant really have him for England's sportsperson. Also it seems he didnt start boxing until he moved to Canada, so that blows my whole "on loan" theory. So...fuck lewis.

England: Kelly Holmes.

Why? Because shes a Mclaren F1 and the rest are all Volvo's.

Being a Canadian, this is how I saw it, too.

You are such a dipshit.

Estrada can easily be a sport icon? Although he is a president, and never played sport before?

Victoria can carry the torch for her husband? Big deal she can carry a torch, so can 99.999% of humans. That doesn't make them a sports icon.
