The world is a dangerous place. :|

I've never been mugged. The areas where i live are fairly safe... Except the train stations, they're kind dodgy. That's where most 15-20 yr old "ganstas" hang around.

The only real close expierence i've had is when i was on the train by myself, coming home from work. And these two dudes who were high off their tits came and sat accross from me and started starring at me with this strange serious look. I was listening to my discman and tried to ignore them, by just looking at the floor. But then they started throwing bits of paper (or something) at me, so it was kinda hard to ignore them.
Eventually they came and sat next to me and one dude asked for me to give him my watch. "Give me your watch, cunt!" I told him no, then he pulled out a machette, he didn't point it at me or anything, he just held it and asked again. I knew he wasn't going to use it against me (well i didnt know that for sure, but i was fairly confident he wouldn't, lol) so i told him no again.
He didn't seem to care, him and his friend just kept talking to me, stirring me, giving me shit while there was nothing i could really do.
In the end when i was talking to them, i tried to make a joke that wasn't funny (i dunno why i bothered? nervous twitch i guess) and it was lame so he punched me in the face twice lol, and asked me if it hurt. I just shrugged, and he didn't really do anything else.

Anyways, i decided not to go on the train by myself again. Lol, meh.

indeed the trains are dodgy.....i swear if someone tries to mug you but you can overpower them you should be able to beat them till they are brain dead w/o any repercusions, teach the fucks a lesson.

I've never really had any problems with muggings... that being said I'm reasonably physically intimidating, although if there was a big group of people I have no doubt they'd kick the shit out of me.

Most of the people around here act all tough (special handshakes, yelling alot, pointing in the air when a car goes past :?) but they're deep down just scared little kids who would run as soon as anyone fought back. In England everyone wanted to be my best friend as soon as they found out I was Australian, it was weird. There'd be times where people were threatening me or whatever, then I'd come out with "shut up dipshit you're not gonna do anything" and they'd be like "Dude are you Australian? That's fucking awesome!" etc. No doubt I avoided many beatings due to that.

I'm never scared going out anywhere though, to be completely honest I kind of enjoy the danger factor alot of the time... one time on New Years Eve I was with my Dad, and his girlfriend called panicking because there was someone in the backyard with some sort of weapon. So we go back to the house, first thing I do is pick up a plank of wood and run out there looking lol... I'm an idiot, and no doubt one day I'll get my head kicked in but I really do enjoy being in dangerous situations.

well, if you like danger you'd like Perth trains.

Australia day, a bunch of aboriginals get on the train...it's about 10:30pm and no security on board. 5mins later they start punching some dude for NO REASON and then scream shit about noongar day. Basically, get on the train past 6pm and you got a 50/50 chance of getting yourself a fight, especially if your waiting for a train because they go around looking for people to bash and mug.

This is going to sound horribly racist and politically incorrect, but is it just me, or are the large majority of Aboriginals a waste of space? I mean not all of them, I've met plenty of Aboriginals whom are great members of the community and actually contribute something, but the sheer volume of them in Adelaide who just sit around drinking and begging for money is terrible. Not to mention that in some places the situation is so bad, that they've had to change their petrol so the Aboriginals won't sniff it... and another place, that promised an Aboriginal community a petrol bowser if they start washing their kids faces :? Anyways, that's off topic.

i agree.....i mean some do stupid shit for no reason. Like vandalizing public property, wtf is the point in that....and they use that stupid Stolen Generation excuse for being bums. Every 1st and 15th the liquor stores are packed here.

Again, not to be racist but it sounds like the (bad) Antillean's & Turkish folks over here.

I'm sure others feel the way I do. But I'm not a bad antillean so piss off.
