I'd help but I don't want to get my hair wet.

JOKING

Hopefully the USA will step in, with all of that lovely money and spread it around. I saw footage of it on the news and it really looks horrific over there, RIP to all of the victims.

Yeah i saw some footage on the news too, it looks really, really bad. I can't even imagine what it would be like.

The aussie media reckons it's the biggest emergency/disaster of modern times.

The aussie media also keeps saying stuff like "15 Australians died" OMG!! 15 people that are australian... NOOOOOOOOOOO... meanwhile thousands upon thousands are dying in asia... but lets just worry about our poor Aussies. :?

Just minutes after the earthquake in the Indian Ocean on Sunday morning Thailand’s foremost meteorological experts sat in a crises-meeting. But they decided not to give out an tsunami-warning "out of consideration for the tourism", writes the Thai newspaper The Nation.

There are now more than 35 000 deaths and rising and more than 100 000 injuries.

Here are some videos: (At the end of the first one there are some disturbing images if you’re sensitive)

Holy motherfucker that's bad. I seriously hope this gets the Global attention it deserves, and that countries start chipping in with aid and such.

Man this is serious. The place where I live is relatively safe but it's still kinda scary. I hope there aren't any aftershocks. It's bad enough already. I heard on the news that people who were walking on the beach and even kids who were playing cricket just got swept away. They show footage of this stuff on the news.. man it's scary to even think about being anywhere near those places.
My heart goes out to all those affected. Najira bro, stay safe. :)
Yeah and btw, I haven't posted here in a long while. Good to see that things haven't changed much around here. Andrew and all the mods, good job keeping the forum in shape. See ya around everyone. :)

Ofcourse the USA will give money to the countries in the disaster... they'll just ask for it back with interest a few years later

It's funny how America sent over 35 million dollars worth of AID and people are still bashing us because we "should" send over more.

I'm sorry but our country is currently LOSING money and we are in a war that none of you wanted to help us with.

If this happened to the United States who would give us 35 million dollars? Who would give us literally anything? Nobody.

I watched the news last night and according to the BBC the death toll is now above 80,000.
Apparently the worst is yet to come. Now all the water is polluted, its become a ripe environment for disease. Also International aid is slow to get going and as of last night not really started. I had never seen so many dead bodies on terrestrial TV. I think people over here, especially myself are starting to realize how bad it is.
A friend of Jodie's parents are on holiday in Thailand, nobody's heard anything from them since the day before it hit.

Bush has created another Coalition, this time with Australia, Japan & India. Hopefully one of peace. They have donated £18million, UK have chipped in with £15million.

It's funny how people hate on America because we get into other people's business but as soon as they need help we are the first ones they go crawling too.

It's pathetic.

It's funny how this thread is getting off-topic.
It's not funny that the death toll has reached 80,000+. I hope everything turns out alright for you Najira.

Off topic-People are saying America should send more because we are the richest country in the world. If you don't think America gets hated on by the rest of the world then get out of your cave, little man.

America gets it for almost everything they do.
