So the 2 players missions are against each other?
Or do you team up to complete a mission together?
Mon Nov 01, 2004 3:05 pm
well i have not tried them to much but they got different types. i guess each icon does something different. i know they have 2 player rampages and a icon that opens free roam. as far as if they are with or against each other, i dont really know.

I got it the other day as well. I was amazed that it was released so soon in Australia, usually we're waiting at least three weeks for the PAL version to be shipped. I definitely rank it above Vice City, though I'm still getting used to all the new features. Missions that added respect but didn't pay any cash certainly left me short of spare change for a little while.
2. have to use analog to move. might be fine for alot of you but it will take me a bit of getting used to. fortunatly thanks to nba live i am getting pretty good at the analog.
I'm still getting used to that too, I always used the D-Pad to move around in GTA3 and GTAVC. It's cool to have additional features, but sometimes I find that the analog stick can be a little too sensitive in games like GTA.
I'm still not that far into the game, still building up my CJ's stats and completing some side/oddjob missions to get used to the layout. I'm also juggling my time reserved for video games between GTASA and NBA Live 2005 so I haven't really played it non-stop for a few hours.

andrew is doing exactly what i am lol. i am barely doing any missions, just stat build.exploring/odd jobs. also i am split with time cause of nba live. word of advise(though i am sure any gta vet knows it) do taxi missions when you start the game/get to new city. its the best way to learn your way around.
Tue Nov 02, 2004 1:21 am
As you know Andrew, I'm strictly a D-pad guy(it's why I haven't played Live in years)
Walking around in GTA:SA using the stick is no problem, it's driving that's killing me. I keep crashing into sh!t.
Other than that, this blows away GTA III & Vice(which are great games). I just finished "Sweet's Girl". Damn, these gangs are no joke! You can't drive anywhere without getting capped.
Here's what my CJ looks like:
1) Muscle & Stamina maxed out.
2) Afro
3) No shirt
4) Grove St. back tattoo, Los Santos right chest tattoo
5) Green jeans
6) Green Rag back
7) Hi-top kicks

Of course, that goes without saying. Problem is, I keep getting shot at doing these Taxi missions.
Tue Nov 02, 2004 4:53 am
lol yeah, i got shot at everywhere i go. it really stinks too cause i am combing the city for tags(i dont like to use the faq i rather do it myself) and i keep having to go back to my house, get the spray paint, and return to where i was cause of these shootings.
Tue Nov 02, 2004 6:00 am
Keeps getting better sounds like
Yea I usually drive around and check out all of the new cars and try to remember my way around too
Tue Nov 02, 2004 6:10 am
I just completed the Drive Thru mission. On my first time my car got wasted, so I had to do it again. Second time worked.
Anyways, then the gym opened up, I've been working out there. I've maxed out my muscle & my stamina is 3/4th now. I also learnt the new moves that boxer guy had to teach me.
My motorbike blew up though, I'll have to go totally to the mountains to get a similiar one.
I haven't unlocked Binko yet, anyone wanna tell me when it opens up? After which mission?
I'm still wearing the default clothes + bald head & a goattee.
Tue Nov 02, 2004 6:15 am
Is the game alot harder over all, considering all the gangs capping you?
Is that the only thing that makes it harder? And can the cars take the same ammount of damage before they are wasted?
Tue Nov 02, 2004 6:21 am
It isn't that hard. GTA's never really been hard. You've just got to keep going at it. If you do it a few times, you're bound to get it right.
There are more gangs though, they are more aware of your presence.
Cars do take the same amount of damage, no worries though, since it's Los Angeles (Los Santos), there's always a car around.

I just went to Blockbuster and rented it, I past the first mission where you gotta follow your boys away from the other gang, and now I dont know what to do? I have driven over the parts that I can and now I have no idea what to do
I cant do the race mission beside the safe house because i dont have enough driving skills, Where is the gym, and the clothing store, and how do I do some missions

sorry for all the questions
EDIT: Nevermind, I found Ryders house
Tue Nov 02, 2004 1:40 pm
lol, ryders hosue is pretty close to your house
Tue Nov 02, 2004 4:41 pm
Binco's opens up after Drive Thru. It is called Nines and AK's you hang with this dude and test out guns, Nothing much.
But the Drive Thru Mission, LOL, It was like something out of a Friday Movie.

You get to Grove Street, and CJ is like "AW FUCK! I SPILLED MY SODA!!!!!"

Big Smoke with the "Aw crap my nachos!"
I just loved Big Smoke at the Drive Thru, He was like "I'll take a #9, A #9 Large, A #4 with Extra Dip, a Number 6...."
Jackal, I know your a Laker Fan. Since the game is Circa 1992, The GREAT WESTERN FORUM is in there.

But renamed for Licensing issues.

as far as is the game harder, well, that depends. i dont think the actual missions are any harder but the side ones are. one that sticks in my mind head and shoulders above the rest is the ambulance mission. the landscape makes this really hard but i am sure to get it. i will try when i open san. now the firefighter mission i found alot easier because i drove my ass as far north into the country as i could and did them there, so there was no traffic/buildings to navigate. vigilante missions are harder imo simple cause i have not stolen a tank yet. also i used the hunter in vice city to just flat out own it.
the thing with the missions is not if they are harder or not, its if they are more fun. the answer is a big yes if you ask me. instead of every mission being the same alot of them are basicly mini games hidden nicely inside the story. take the train robbery mission where you have to throw boxes to ryder.the big smoke mission where you ride on the back of the bike and shoot at all the other bikes/cars.
on a side note. do i sound like a fanboy yet?
Wed Nov 03, 2004 6:21 pm
Ill have the money to get it next week
failing to get this game will result me to place an order for it
and play the heck out of gta 3 and Vice to get me in the mood for it

Yea I knew that but I never did notice the little red or pink circle that you walk into, I never noticed it
But I finally got to San Fierro
I had a little trouble with CJ's racing missions out in the country with the fast cars and alll
Catalina is a bitch!! Flat out
Those country people (Survivalists) they are pretty crazy too
I keep making little stupid mistakes that really pisses me off

Like barely damaging a car that has to be in perfect condition
I did have my muscle all the way up but I lost time and started doing all of these missions and lost all of it pretty much
All in all this is an awesome game
Mon Nov 15, 2004 7:04 pm
I got it today and it RIPS any GTA before it
Tue Nov 16, 2004 2:05 pm
I just finished OG Loc's missions. He's the funniest character so far. I love "Management Issues" & "House Party".
Tue Nov 16, 2004 10:13 pm
I'm not so good at the dancing part. What pisses me off even more is that all the bastards walk away when I stink up the dancing. Gimme another shot bastards.

Well I'm back where I started -- Grove Street, Los Santos, here to take back my land.
If anyone has any questions regarding missions in all three cities let me know. That's all missions except Zero's and being Millie's boyfriend.

Any tips for the N.O.E mission (safer route to avoid the radar) and the 'Misappropriation' mission (can we kill the target before he gets to the chopper?)
Thu Nov 18, 2004 10:41 am
Is N.O.E. the one where you have to stay real low. If so, go way west so you're flying over the ocean since the target isn't too far away from the shore. It's a ridiculously easy route and you have more than enough time to get to your destination and back.
For the Misapprotiation mission, I went around the town. It takes a bit longer but once you're about 100 yards outside so you can see the town, get out of the car and walk around the town to the back. The man is standing right there. Kill him and get the evidence. Mission complete.

so far i must say that the second Zero mission is the hardest in game. this thing anoyed the piss outa me.
