Re: WWE Thread

So if WWE would release Tommy then that would be the time for ANOTHER title change.

Re: WWE Thread

Fri Jun 12, 2009 3:06 pm

Supposedly he's re-signed so he'll probably be around a while longer. Meanwhile, Umaga's release has been confirmed as a Wellness violation. It was only his second but he refused to attend rehab so he was canned. Unfortunate, but kudos to the WWE for sticking to their policy. Of course, you wonder what would happen if HHH failed a Wellness test but that remains to be seen.

Re: WWE Thread

If HHH fails a Wellness test, he would be rewarded with a championship. :|

Re: WWE Thread

Fri Jun 12, 2009 3:52 pm

I wouldn't be altogether surprised if he wins the vacant championship next week. If Orton doesn't get it back then my money's on HHH.

Re: WWE Thread

A useless fact:

Seen Extreme Rules for the second time, and noticed that the brand world titles have no name plates on it.

Daddy-in-law, I want that championship belt.

Re: WWE Thread

To HHH's credit, he's a legit main eventer. Being Vince's son-in-law obviously gives him tremendous political stroke but he's proven he can carry the company as the champion. "More of the same" does get boring after a while though and anyone who dominates the title picture too long gets stale eventually.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Jun 13, 2009 3:24 pm

I agree with you Andrew, yes he can carry the company as a champ. But I think it is much better if he will be a heel champion (which is unlikely) just like before.

Is it true that Edge will turn into a face?

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Jun 13, 2009 4:15 pm

Not according to anything I've read on WNW. It's probably a possibility, though I think he's better off as a heel.

Re: WWE Thread

I hate wrestling these days, yet continue to watch it like some sort of lemming. I'm glad they got rid of Kennedy (dumbest gimmick ever) and Umaga who bored the living hell out of me but really, as long as John Cena, Batista and HHH are top guys it's going to remain stale and repetitive. Randy Orton is a great heel, so it was nice of the WWE to enhance his heel image by having the chubby pasty white non-wrestling Shane McMahon beat the living hell out of him and his two friends :? I hate Kofi Kingston and MVP, just boring, and MVP shoots like a girl. I used to like Jericho but he's clearly made some sort of bet with one of his friends about how many times he can say the word "hypocrite" in a single promo and I'm sure he's winning. Has anyone ever watched the FCW shows that are on? It's the WWE's developmental territory, I'd be curious to see what that's like. I've read some recaps and it sounds like the wrestlers have alot more creative freedom with their characters and promo's, not to mention the angles are more interesting.

Re: WWE Thread

you do realise that raw is written to please vinnie mac right?

Jericho is trying to annoy people by being monotonous. guess it's working.

am I the only one who watches wrestling because it's so gay it's funny?

Re: WWE Thread

RAW's always been written to please Vince, but now that there's no competition (TNA lol) he can focus entirely on making stupid amounts of money instead of keeping one eye on WCW, which means he can give the kiddies what they want.

...like that fancy spinning belt. :(

The lack of competition really does hurt the product, no question. The brand split/extension/whatever they want to call it has failed in its attempt to recreate that competition and it's not surprising because at the end of the day it's the same company and it's no longer surprising when wrestlers from one show appear on another anymore. It helps get people on TV with the huge roster they have but they'd probably be better served cutting a lot of the wrestlers who aren't getting over anyway and going back to one "brand", two weekly shows. It's not going to happen though.

Re: WWE Thread

:D Lean really wants to get rid of the spinner belt and the toy-like black ECW belt.

I'm glad that I have a spokeperson.

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Jun 14, 2009 10:34 pm

Yes, and once they reverted back to either the Undisputed belt, or the Winged Eagle, or come up with a better design, then my mission in this world is done.

I actually like the new ECW belt, but ehh, not the same ECW like before so they completely buried the entire ECW history along with the old belt. The only thing in original ECW history is Tommy Dreamer.

Me too, hate the spinner thingie but I'm lovin' the ECW Belt

Re: WWE Thread

The 3 hour Raw special this coming Monday. Any predictions?

WWE Championship match:
Triple H vs Randy Orton vs Big Show vs John Cena

WHC Title match:
Edge vs Jeff Hardy vs CM Punk

ECW Title match:
Christian vs Tommy Dreamer

Re: WWE Thread

I think the Orton/Bastista thing has to mean it's either him or HHH getting it, if they put it on Cena after randomly feuding with Vickie Guerrero and the Big Show for the last couple of months it'd be retarded. For that reason I pick Cena.

Apparentely CM Punk is turning heel (I can't see that working), JR has been making his usual "this guy is about to turn heel but I'll pretend I'm not kayfabe'ing" comments on his blog, so I'd imagine CM Punk wins.

Christian will win it back because Dreamer has no real drawing power and I'm fairly sure they just put the title on him so that he could re-sign and still be used on ECW in the future. With a legit star like Christian and a decent up and comer like Swagger on the roster I have no idea why else they'd put the belt on the old guy. So Christian, perhaps with a heel turn.

Re: WWE Thread

Mon Jun 15, 2009 1:43 am

I'll pick Orton to go over, setting up the inevitable "You never beat me" feud with Batista when he returns. I'll say Punk retains but turns heel and starts a program with Jeff Hardy, assuming Hardy signs an extension. I reckon Dreamer will also retain with Christian ending up jumping to another brand.

I actually see Cena winning it as well. Since Batista is out, I say Orton and HHH continue their program without a title involved this time, while Show continues to feud with Cena.

I am pulling for a CM Punk heel turn for some time, although unfortunately I don't see it coming any time soon. They tried so hard to explain that it wasn't a bad move cashing in, but rather an opportunistic one, and he hopes he doesn't lose his fans, blah blah. If they wanted him heel, the time would have been Friday to do so. Plus, I think WWE wants their 'straight-edge' superstar to be liked by the younger fans, being a good example. And add to that, they don't have many ME faces on Smackdown.I see him winning on Monday.

I also take Dreamer to retain, but I'm not sure on that one. If he does, I think he'll lose it th next title defense after that.

Re: WWE Thread

Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:41 am

Do you think he could pull off a heel switch promo wise? To me he'd come across as Jericho 2.0, I mean his only option really would be to come out and insult the fans for whatever reason. Or get drunk with a couple of hookers in the ring...

... eight years ago that probably would've been the plan.

Let me answer your question with this clip:

phpBB [video]

"Dumb bitch, I'm not holding a microphone!"

I don't know,Punk always annoyed the shit outta me. I think a change to heel would give it some fresh air.
