Bringing back the good old times, I still remember Jake "The Snake" Roberts' match against Rick Martel on where Martel had to wrestle with a blind fold/a small sack covering his head so that the match will be fair against the "blind" Roberts.

Agreed, that was a good blowoff to the feud. A gimmick match without being too gimmicky, albeit a little cheesy but not for the era.

WWE reports:
World Wrestling Entertainment’s live, internationally televised broadcast, WWE Monday Night Raw(USA Network, 9:00 PM ET) to take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver next Monday, May 25 is in jeopardy of being cancelled by the Denver Nuggets. WWE and the Denver Nuggets are currently at an impasse in resolving a scheduling debacle by the team and the Pepsi Center. A sell-out crowd is expected to attend the WWE show at the same time the Denver Nuggets are slated to square off against the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. WWE has held the May 25 date with the Pepsi Center since Aug. 15, 2008.
“Even though the Denver Nuggets had a strong team this year and were projected to make the playoffs, obviously Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke did not have enough faith in his own team to hold the May 25 date for a potential playoff game,” said WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Is Vince expecting that the Nuggets won't make it to the Western Conference Finals?

EDIT: That would be a good angle for a storyline though, bring in the Nuggets into Raw.
Tue May 19, 2009 11:36 am
I'd say it was the Nuggets' brass themselves who didn't expect to be in the conference finals since Kroenke was willing to give the WWE that date back in August last year, which is what Vince is suggesting there. Certainly a debacle.

Mcmahon even said that the event might be held in a parking lot.

I'm interested in what's gonna happen to Raw now all tickets have been sold for the event.
A bit off-topic:

I screwed around a little bit in Photoshop hours ago. Damn I am still hoping that they bring back the (EDIT) Winged Eagle belt.

It's definitely a mess. I would think from a legal standpoint the WWE would be in the right seeing as though they booked the building well in advance but then again if it was that open and shut presumably the situation would be resolved already.

Triple H really let himself go.

I've read that Ric Flair would like to wrestle again, so his return on PPV and the following night on RAW could well be a lead up to that. I had wondered if his retirement would be permanent as that would be a rarity in pro wrestling, and if anyone ever got a big send off it was Flair, but it's his right to change his mind and if he can still go, more power to him. I don't think you could fairly begrudge him a match here and there as part of an on-screen role.
Thu May 21, 2009 1:22 am
Wooooooooo! I think it is much better if he stays at home or atleast being a WWE backstage employee. Wooooooo! Goodluck Nature Boy.
Thu May 21, 2009 9:41 am
ric flair really had a rather great send off. at first i thought that he really would be coming back, just another gimmick of having him retire and all. but after seeing his send off, i hoped that he don't return into wrestling. but still, it's his call.
Thu May 21, 2009 9:54 am
At the time he probably felt it was time to hang it up so they went with the big sendoff. If he is going to wrestle again, be it a once-off or every now and again while being an onscreen character, I'd definitely rather he did so in the WWE than in small time independent promotions.

I feel that Flair's recent appearance on JD and on Raw might hint on an Evolution return.
And next Monday's Raw will be on Staples Center, of all places.

Details
here.

It wouldn't surprise me, a face version of Evolution vs Orton and The Legacy, if only for one PPV.
Thu May 21, 2009 12:04 pm
Evolution as face? That's awful, imo.
Thu May 21, 2009 1:18 pm
How is it awful? DX started off as a heel group but eventually became faces. It wouldn't be the same concept, if anything I could see an alliance between HHH, Batista and Flair that is referred to or has acknowledged ties to Evolution.
Thu May 21, 2009 4:22 pm
What I mean Andrew was if they will adopt the Evolution concept.
It would be boring for me to watch them as a face.
Thu May 21, 2009 8:00 pm
True, the original concept is suited to a heel faction but with HHH and Batista both main eventers these days it would probably just be the same kind of alliance minus Orton (who they'd feud with along with Rhodes and Dibiase) that would be referred to as Evolution, or the ties at least acknowledged. It could even be similar to what they do with DX these days, reform it for special appearances in dark main events and occasionally on camera when need be.

Get to check the (cheesy-titled) WWE Extreme Rules card. Seems like the same card of that from Judgment Day, that's what the post-WrestleMania PPVs have, a feud that would last for like 2-4 months.
Now I have a feeling that Triple H will be the "mystery player" on the 5-on-5 tag match on this Monday's "Nuggets Bashing Special" of Raw. If it is indeed HHH, looks like the Evolution-Legacy angle will push through.
Sun May 24, 2009 2:18 am
Yeah, it's pretty a continuation of a few feuds with added stipulations.
Mon May 25, 2009 9:28 pm
Stumbled on something that I believe is a SkySports TV spot.
Tue May 26, 2009 8:46 am
got something as well:
if they ever decide to turn him heel, they should show this video again. (:34

)
Tue May 26, 2009 10:19 am
I remember that Undertaker promo. Fun stuff. As for turning Cena heel, this is all they need to show...repeatedly.
Tue May 26, 2009 2:58 pm
He IS a bad man. Man that video is trying to be a Beastie Boys rip-off.
