C'mon Lean, be optimistic. Well, if Triple H will not be included in the live event I'll sue WWE.

Possibly, considering how political professional wrestling is and the way HHH was dominating the title picture for a while there. I guess in all fairness I can't say for sure certain people never would've got a reign/gotten over but it's helped. All things considered though, I prefer a single brand/company with unified titles. The brand extension hasn't been kind to the lesser titles to the point where they do just seem like props at times, which of course they are but aren't supposed to be in the suspension of disbelief.
Does anyone else think MVP might be headed for a bright future in the WWE? I wasn't really sold on him when he debuted but I think they handled his push pretty well, giving him a couple of reigns with the secondary titles but not pushing him to the moon right away and when he got into some hot water backstage for his attitude they had him do all those jobs to humble him. Now it looks like that's in the past and with his face turn, he cut a really good promo on RAW before having a fine match with Randy Orton. I don't want to get too ahead of myself on this one but I was impressed, it's a while off but perhaps he can establish himself as a main eventer in time, especially if he keeps getting the crowd reactions.
I must admit I kind of scoffed when people had him marked down as a future main eventer along with Kennedy a couple of years back but he's come a long way with the gimmick and it's really starting to work. I'm still not sold on Kennedy though, I think his injuries and criticism of the Wellness Policy are going to hold him back from what he could have been anyway. His stock has to be lower at the moment.

MVP will be a main eventer rather sooner than later, no doubt. Although I don't see his match on RAW being a step to main event level, they just needed a random face for that match.
He has incredibly much charisma, which is the half battle in being pushed to main event level, and is of course quite talented in the ring.
I liked the promo on RAW and I like him joking around, but I think he was even a tad better as a heel. Funny how many wrestlers are coming over better if they play a heel. Humans' nature I guess.
Sun May 03, 2009 10:26 am
I don't mean a big step, but it doesn't hurt if he can work a good match with a main eventer as well as work the crowd in a promo. Take Khali for example. They've tried him with a lot of people but he's looked terrible against pretty much everyone, the person who's carried him to the best matches ironically being John Cena (and even then, no match with Khali can ever be called a classic). I'm sure he's a good person and I wouldn't deny anyone their chosen livelihood, but unless it's a squash match he just can't go because when he needs to be on the receiving end of a move and sell for someone else, it just gets ugly. He's a huge guy, but his title reign was a farce because no one wants to see him wrestle (or try to).

I want Kofi Kingston to be a main eventer than MVP, after seeing him at the MITB in WR25. I like the guy, the high-flying moves. Why those kind of guys can have titles? The only wrestler that I can recalled right now that has the ability like Kofi that has a main title is Jeff Hardy.
Sun May 03, 2009 10:56 pm
Well MVP had a push with this "winning streak" that he had on the way to WrestleMania.

He completely missed the mark.
And I was

to see the old-skool X-Pac.

I love how they all pretend it was intentional ..

That blond dude has skills to go like that between the ropes.

saw some old saturday night main events. damn, vince was a great commentator. he should have kept doing that.
instead of tearing his quads.

Vince prefers the bigger wrestlers, that's just the way it is. I suppose he feels that they're easier to push as dominating characters and he's got a point, it's been pretty successful for him through the years. There's always been exceptions like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and as you noted Jeff Hardy to name a few. Guys like Edge and Stone Cold are/were a little bigger but smaller than the likes of HHH and Hulk Hogan.
Kofi is obviously very talented but I think he needs a better (or at least tweaked) gimmick to be a credible main eventer. The audience needs to buy that he's a legitimate contender for a major championship for him to have any kind of successful run at the top. Look how MVP got over on RAW last week while The Miz kind of flopped.

Yeah just watch WM25. It might be late, gonna put my thoughts on the matches.
The MITB being the first is ok, like all of them flying on to each other, with Shelton Benjamin on the ladder, the winner should have been Christian

.
Jeff vs Matt,

, I like the match, even though it's short and only limited weapons is use, whats with Jeff having all of the momentum then losing it? I like the Twist of Fate of Matt in chair

.
JBL vs Rey Mysterio is meh, what the heck is this doing in WM?
The other matches I haven't watched yet, like the "they say good match" Taker vs HBK. I hope I get to see the other WM25 today
Tue May 05, 2009 3:23 pm
Taker vs HBK was freakin' awesome.

I read that Jeff Hardy is very likely going to sign an extension. I certainly hope so, the feud with Matt didn't go as well as I was hoping but Jeff should still be one of the top faces on Smackdown and with Taker getting up there and possibly taking some time off, there's a great opportunity for him to have another run at the top.
Tue May 05, 2009 8:54 pm
watched some of raw last night during timeouts and half time
sucked that most of the matches ended with a DQ or some crap
and why was it such a big deal for Batista & MVP to interfere in that last "match" after the ref already called the DQ on Legacy.
When did Lawler become a face commentator? I mean everyone always loved him but he would usually root for the bad guys and last night he didn't do any of that.
Tue May 05, 2009 9:13 pm
He's been that way for a while, they've kind of moved away from the face/heel announcing teams. Occasionally they'll get a bit old school with it, when JBL was doing commentary on Smackdown he kind of brought it back but apparently Vince feels that it's a corny routine and cutting down or eliminating it adds an element of reality to the product. I have mixed feelings about it, on one hand it is kind of corny but it does add some flavour to the commentary.

I have 3 wwe shirts. The first Rated R Superstar one, Christians Peep show and the Yellow Carlito one. I got the first two in gateway a week before the first Raw show. I think they got the license from WWE but they printed the shirts themselves so it costs around P500. At that time there weren't many of the ripoffs yet But I can't tell the difference nowadays. Then I got my Carlito one in Araneta just before the Raw show started. It was a fun experience but I don't plan to come back. It was pretty much a house show with watered down matches. But it was pretty cool to see HHH's entrance. Though they didn't have a stage. Just a small entranceway.

Their entrance is kinda like the old WWF with steel barricades on the side.
I am planning to go and watch the event eventhough it is kinda like a house show. For almost 24 years I've only seen them in posters and tv shows.
Regarding the T Shirts, I think I'll just checkout Recto, hoping that they still have the DX shirt. Btw, what are the sizes available? I don't wear large size shirts.

Yea, it was so... unnoticeable/forgetable? At least the very short match wasn't a finger poke of doom.
Just saw Backlash. The three-man commentary is now smooth unlike in WM25 where they will have brief moments of pause before one of them speaks.
Fri May 08, 2009 9:56 am
Rey/JBL was a bit of a downer for such a huge event but it was a fitting way to write out the JBL character.

Because Michael Cole talks a lot I guess.
Sun May 10, 2009 5:13 am
Yea, it mostly has to do with Cole. Cole is about to speak then JR or King says something at the same time as him, they pause, Cole realizes it so he gives way for JR/King to speak.
