hey guys, need some help regarding Xbox Live....

so I'm signed up & all, I go into nba 2k7 & go to xbox live....anyways, I go into online lobbies to look for a game....here's my questions:

1. People request games, then I accept, then they cancel out almost immediately....what the hell is with that?

2. Can someone explain the "ping" thing? I have all ping bars lit up with green. Is that good or bad? Meanwhile, most other people have all ping bars lit up with red. Some have maybe one or two bars green, but rest is red. Please explain.

3. Under the voice part of lobbies, it doesn't have a microphone pic or whatever it is even though I have my headset connected to my controller. I don't know, maybe my headset isn't working. Am I suppose to configure it in some way or should it work if & once it's connected to my controller?!?

1. They probably notice the lag and quit, either that or they're just bitches.

2. Ping is a way of working out the delay (lag) you experience. The more pings, the more lag.

3. I experience this in halo 2 a bit. I just unplug it or turn the mute on, then off again.

If that doesnt work, take the mic back.

Toys R Us had a sale going where if you bought an Xbox 360 (or a Zune) you'd get a $50 gift card (basically $50 off because you can use it on that transaction). The sale ends today (Sat. 17th) though.

OK i've just sold my xbox and i've got enough for the full shabang, meaning the Pro Pack with xbox live, another controller and 3 games. I'm hoping to make a deal with EB. But i'm waiting it out till PS3 is released and hopefully get a price drop, anyone know if one is on the way to spoil Sony's party?

Its Australia, everything is delayed. We get Movies like 2 months after they have been out everywhere else.

@Scotty, i dont think the 360 is gonna drop that much when the PS3 is released, i only say this because its been 600 since it was released which was like 2 years ago or whatever, so i dont think anything will change.

I downloaded the demo of NBA 2k7, and i think the game looks so terrible. The player models look so horrible, Live 07 has much better visuals. I dont want to start a new Live vs. 2k war, but i was really shocked by this. The gameplay is said to be much better than live 07, but the visuals look terrible. I hope its bad because its only a demo. I was really planning on buying this game, but now i am confused.

The visuals arent that bad, At least all of the players dont have stick legs and big bodies (NBA Live). I think the graphics are pretty good on 2k7, the animations are pretty sick.

wisdom kid, I'm hoping you have a HDTV, otherwise they would look pretty crap....graphics aren't superb for 360, but not that bad....

on the topic of 360, have seriously considered selling mine & getting a PS3....I don't really want a PS3, but there is no other way for me to get College Hoops since 360 foolishly region locks it's games....idiots....in the end, I probably won't sell as I have no desire to have a blu-ray player, but yeah....

Are you 100% that the game is region locked. Not all 360 games are, its up to the distributor. Some are region free, maybe check play-asia.

[color=#006699] The players in 2k7 look old, they have this weird look which gave me an unsecured feeling On a serious note, the commentators don't even pronounce the players name, they say the players number. Anyway i just decided to purchase MLB 2k7 instead of NBA 2k7 since basketball season is almost over.

Just wondering whether anybody here has got/played Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy? Thinking of picking it up tonight as it is $60AU, so discounted $40. Looks pretty cool, and I've heard that it's meant to be a heap of fun. Just wanted to hear some other feedback.

Problem is that the PS3 version of College Hoops is region free and can be imported into Australia with ease. Why would they region lock the 360 version, but not the PS3 version, it makes no sense. Hopefully College Hoops 2k8 is region free on 360.


Ty, to answer your question, definitely get Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy....I got it & I like it....your nephews & nieces will like it....your sisters & brothers will like it....even your gf or partner will like it....it's just one of those games that works....it's a lot of fun & for $60, I'd definitely consider it....it's normally $80 these days, so saving $20 is alright....it's easily the most fun game I've played so far & aside from Call of Duty 2, it's the only game I have played so far from start to finish....I'm about 60% through the game so still a lot of play left in....I'd be further through it but my older sister borrowed it off me....she is 95% through the game & that is no easy task as takes a bit of time to get through that much....you can also play co-op with a mate, which can be both good & bad at times....but you can easily drop them out if they keep on holding you back at key points....

I got Lego star wars on launch, the trailer sold me on it. Trust me, the cutscenes are the funniest I have ever ever seen in a game! If only it had deathmatch online... can you imagine capture the flag with the lego figures, and a lego flag as the prize! omg.

I've been playing GOW, Crackdown and NBA 2k7. I'm thinking about doing a franchise with a random team, but not too sure yet.

Scotty, the commentary isnt a big deal to me personally. It's not great, I dont sit there and think "wow", but it isnt like Reggie Theus in Live 2000 either. Kenny's stamps at halftime are pretty good, and Craig Sager still chimes in at halftime. All in all its solid but not really noticed.

I don't know why they don't. Maybe they're idiots? I want NCAA Football to have a corresponding dynasty to my Madden franchise but its not released here either. What can you do? (apart from spending $1000 on a console that is inferior in terms of games, software and online capabilities for one title)

at least you guys have a choice as a consumer whether to buy it or not, we don't....

yep, it's just one game & I've had my whinge, so it's all good....I'm sure you would be whinging at least a little if Halo 3 was region locked (which wouldn't bother me one bit, not that it will be anyway)....

just so you guys know, on EB's and gamespot's websites they have link to a weekly ad that shows up on the top of the screen. In it they have a coupon that you have to print that gives you a extra 5 bucks off any used 360 game. Ill be picking up double agent tomorrow for 20 bucks.

No reply, tried a couple of different e-mail addresses.

After taking a quick look around at some 2k sports forums, a lot of Euros are unhappy about not getting MLB2k7 on PAL or region free & have been sending numerous e-mails & letters, to no avail unfortunately, just generic replies, "game is only NTSC format, no PAL format". "We will forward onto corporate ofice".

A handful of the 360 Euro owners even pre-ordered PS3's, but have since cancelled those pre-orders since it turns out that even though PS3 is region free console, 2k is still taking the option of region locking their games....it doesn't make sense, but ahh well, at least PAL owners on each type of console are in the same boat....I just thought that 360 owners were being screwed, that's why I was a little miffed....
