On PTI, the Kornhister and Wilbon were arguing that he is only coming to the MLS because he can't make an impact in Europe anymore. Literally, if he was good enough, he would stay where the best players are.
I can't even comprehend $250 Million dollars.... Wonder if the LA Galaxy fans are gonna be happy when Beckham's penalty kicks are flying over the bar.
Besides, if Beckham comes, they might sell out, sure... but its only to the people who are really soccer fans. Majority of the USA are pretty ignorant to soccer, and don't see it as a real sport, or significant. Only like people who are followers will come out at watch.

Barca, maybe Chelsea. If the Italian league wasn't such a mess I'd have AC Milan and maybe Juventus up there, but we all know what went on there.

Pompey seal Lauren capture
Portsmouth have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Lauren.
The 29-year-old, who turns 30 on Friday, has penned a two-and-half year contract at Fratton Park.
Pompey moved quickly to land the Cameroon full back, after he spurned the chance to join Premiership rivals West Ham.
"Lauren is an outstanding player," said manager Harry Redknapp.
"He's a great athlete and professional, very strong and quick too.
"He will be a tremendous asset to us, is extremely versatile and can play in a number of different positions at the back and in midfield. I'm delighted he's decided to join Portsmouth above a whole host of clubs that were after him.
"It just shows how far we have come in a short space of time."
Lauren was delighted to have sealed the move to the South Coast.
"This is a great move for me. Portsmouth are having a great season and are pushing for a place in Europe and I aim to be playing my part in that challenge," he said.
"I have been very impressed with the club's plans for the future both on and off the pitch and this was why I chose to come to Fratton Park.
"It will also be good to once again team up with Sol Campbell and Kanu."
Lauren goes straight into Pompey's squad ahead of their clash with Charlton at the weekend.

Rossoneri close in on Ronaldo deal
Ronaldo is close to completing a move from Real Madrid to AC Milan, according to reports from Italy.
The Brazilian superstar, 30, has fallen out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu this season, with his fitness and attitude coming under the spotlight.
And now it looks certain he will be the latest Galactico to depart the Spanish capital, with David Beckham's departure for LA Galaxy already confirmed.
Spanish daily Marca claimed earlier this week that the Rossoneri have already agreed terms with Ronaldo at around £4million in wages per season.
It appeared Madrid wanted a fee of around £13million for his transfer, but now Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the fee could be much lower.
They say Milan have only offered £2.5million, but could go as high as £6.5million, which might be enough to clinch a deal.

Hornets accept Villa bid for Young
Watford have accepted a bid from Aston Villa - believed to be an initial £8million - for highly-rated forward Ashley Young
The 21-year-old has been given permission to talk to Martin O'Neill, whose Villa side host the Hornets in a Premiership clash on Saturday.
Young was always a prime target for O'Neill once the January transfer window had opened as he searches for new firepower with the funds provided by new owner Randy Lerner.
The player looked set to join West Ham after a £9.65million fee had been agreed but turned down that move earlier this week.
O'Neill has since stepped up his attempts to sign Young, and Villa's fee will come close to matching that of West Ham - with various add-ons.
Young was initially thought to be keen to stay in London, with Tottenham looking favourites to sign him in a cash-plus-player exchange deal involving Calum Davenport and Wayne Routledge.
But Villa's chances of signing Young are said to be greater than those of the Hammers, who themselves have now signed defender Davenport.
O'Neill has been hunting high and low for new forward talent after the ineffective performances overall of Milan Baros and £9.5million club record signing Juan Pablo Angel - while veteran Chris Sutton is still suffering from blurred vision.
The former Celtic boss has been linked with Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Craig Bellamy among others - as well as winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.
But to date his only January arrival has been Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley, who has joined on loan for the remainder of the season.
The signing of Young would be a positive message of intent for supporters waiting to see just how much money Lerner is willing to spend.
If Young does agree a move to Villa, it could clear the path for Baros to join Lyon - who are managed by his former boss Gerrard Houllier.
Young made his Watford debut in September 2003 and the following season was voted their young player of the year - before scoring 15 goals in 2005-2006 to help them regain their Premiership status.

MLS target Ronaldinho
Major League Soccer are looking to bring Ronaldinho to the United States to complement the recent signing of David Beckham.
According to the player's brother and agent Roberto de Assis, Ronaldinho is seen as the ideal player to raise the the profile of the game in America.
"We know that in the USA they want Dinho," said de Assis.
"We know their intentions but it is still too soon to speak about this."
However, de Assis admitted that Ronaldinho would not be leaving Barcelona in the foreseeable future.
"No problems exist between Ronaldinho and Barcelona so I can discard an imminent exit."
