I think it's ok. Cena's fans are mostly kids anyway.

Re: WWE Thread

Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:08 pm

His crowd reactions have been more favourable as of late. I think it's becoming slightly less trendy to hate him.

That's freaking stupid anyway, if so we may see some moves renamed too? Like the Upside-Down Head Hit? (Tombstone Piledriver)

Re: WWE Thread

Tue Jan 13, 2009 3:43 am

It's only because of the meaning of FU and STFU, but Tombstone Piledrive sounds pretty cruel too, aha.

Nah, ridiculous in my opinion. Making it rated G as much as possible.

Re: WWE Thread

Tue Jan 13, 2009 7:25 am

So the WWE is trying to make their show G rated and they posted "nude" pictures of Vickie Guerrero in their own Website? :?

Re: WWE Thread

Tue Jan 13, 2009 12:29 pm

It's teaching kids not to watch porn by traumatizing them with those Vickie pictures.

Re: WWE Thread

Tue Jan 13, 2009 1:19 pm

Come on, the WWE didn't even say what's the meaning of FU and STFU. Could be "Fluffy Unicorn" and "Sheryl the Fluffy Unicorn."

I know, go figure. It's understandable, the younger fans are an important demographic but you need that edge for the older fans.

That's a very good reason, I didn't even think about that.

Ted Dibiase Jr. came back last Monday and he's still part of the "Legacy" stable.

Matt Hardy dropped the ECW title to Jack Swagger. Odd decision there, unless they're going to move Hardy back to Smackdown and have him compete in the upper midcard.

Re: WWE Thread

Wed Jan 14, 2009 10:48 pm

To be honest, I've never seen him wrestle yet. I usually don't watch ECW, I just remember one episode I watched, where he attacked somebody after that guy fought a match. The usual stuff a new dominant guy does when he arrives, just like what Mike Knox is doing to Mysterio at the moment.
He hit his finisher, dunno what it is - spinebuster sort of and that was it. I think it was before his official debut.
I've read that he's been undefeated for a while and I thought they'd give him tthe title sometime.

I guess I'll watch that match.

- As for preliminary WrestleMania 25 plans for SmackDown, the word I'm getting is that creative wants to do Edge & Christian vs. Jeff & Matt Hardy and Triple H vs. The Undertaker for the WWE Championship. Obviously, this plan calls for a number of things to happen, including Jeff Hardy to drop the WWE Championship (which we heard was a good possibility to happen at Royal Rumble, although Edge would have to lose it to either Triple H or The Undertaker).

I saw this in one of the wrestling sites and I guess this is the reason why Matt Hardy dropped the title. This is just the plan for Wrestlemania and it can change anytime.

Re: WWE Thread

Thu Jan 15, 2009 8:32 am

Yeah that wouldn't be a bad scenario but as the rumour notes it would require a few things to change between now and then, however...

If Jeff Hardy drops the title to Edge at the Royal Rumble due to Christian's interference, then perhaps he and/or Matt could screw Edge at No Way Out leading to HHH winning the title, with the Undertaker either winning the Rumble or the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out for the Wrestlemania title shot.

Re: WWE Thread

so we can't call it the FU anymore, I hope you understand....oh wait, back out of the way, the Divas are coming through, yea, Bra and Panties match next

Re: WWE Thread

Thu Jan 15, 2009 10:43 am

Exactly, though they've cut down on those too.

Just read that JBL is expected to win the world title and square off with HBK at Wrestlemania. Ugh. I guess it fulfils the need of having at least one heel champion heading into Wrestlemania but about the only person I'd less like to see get another title run would be the Great Khali. Even with that long title reign, I have trouble buying JBL as a main event wrestler because he was elevated so quickly, one minute a midcard wrestler at best and then the longest reigning champion in a decade. He's great at drawing heat though, I've got to give him that.

Re: WWE Thread

wtf wasn't Christian working at TNA?

i guess he would work well with his old teammate Edge considering they've actually grown in popularity since then.

Re: WWE Thread

He was but his contract expired in December and he's recently signed with the WWE.

I'd like the spoiler Andrew posted, plus the Triple H - Undertaker title match. If they could pull that one off, and make 'Taker the WWE Champion, then they could revert back that toy spinning belt at least to the old Undisputed Championship design.

EDIT: Wonder if Y2J will be moving over to SmackDown as well?

They should really change the belt back to its original design if ever they would go with this path because it would be awkward when Undertaker put the WWE championship on his waist.

The problem is, it's a huge merchandise seller so Vince McMahon probably doesn't care that a lot of people don't like it; the people who do are making him a considerable amount of money.

Re: WWE Thread

I just miss the old belt. :(

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Jan 17, 2009 11:00 am

Me too. I'm kind of used to the current belt because it's been in use for going on four years but the gimmick has run its course especially now that Cena hasn't helt that title in over a year. The thing is, if they reverted to the old design and put a replica up for sale I'm sure it would sell just as well, especially amongst kids who have to have the "new" belt.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Jan 17, 2009 4:08 pm

I hope they could see that. Put the title on a credible, famous guy and revert to the old design so it could sell.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Jan 17, 2009 4:28 pm

Agreed. But you know, if it hasn't happened by now I don't know that putting the belt on Taker would change anything. I'd certainly like to see him get the run of course regardless of what the belt looks like but it would be a good opportunity to change it back. Then again, we've said that about every WWE champion that's followed Cena.

Aah. Vince returns, Orton punts him.

Now with Vince back (I hope he doesn't take a 6 month break again becuase of the punt kick) and [big spoiler]Randy probably winning the Rumble this could lead to the best storyline in months.
McMahon was about to fire him, but if he wins it, McMahon kinda can't do that.
