Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Just look for brushes on Deviantart, they have a wide variety.
About making it look good, just experiment with the brushes, I'm pretty sure that's how we all learnt it.
Here's something to work with:

Just browse by top favorites & choose from those, you can't say you don't have any opinion on the top favorites.

can i use that one you posted
Fri Jul 22, 2005 5:56 am
Yeah, I suppose so but it'd really be better if you learned it for yourself too, but yeah, I posted that one till you got a hang of doing it yourself.

how about this for a quick first try dun in a few minutes.
about how long does it take you to make a good one
Fri Jul 22, 2005 6:11 am
10-20 seconds I suppose. Download different brushes, keep using them at random as long as they look nice. First, when you start off, render some clouds, Colin's explained this though, anyways...
Open up a new thing, hit d on your keyboard to reset all the colors, go to render, clouds and if you don't like them just hit ctrl F. After that keep interchanging with white & black brushes. Just experiment dude.

Use different layers. It doesn't necessarily take long, usually a minimum of 7 layers is what some people use. But I've made cool backgrounds in 1-2 layers. It's not about sticking to a form, it's about messing around until you find something cool.
Fri Jul 22, 2005 6:19 am
I did mine in one layer.

I've done the same thing, which is why you never want to stick to a form. Just keep changing things you do, don't always use the same style or technique. And pick whatever brushes look good to you, which you can judge in the preview (the image you see).

It adds depth to your sig, making it look like more than just a flat wall.
