Re: NFL Talk

holy crap. did not see this coming. after the 1st 10 pts, i thought the saints would pull away. ubt i felt there was a chance of an upset when in the 2nd quarter the saints could not pull away. oh and peyton's greatness worked against him today. he scored too quickly. it was too easy for him.

I love that Phil Simms seems to think that intentional grounding shouldn't apply if the quarterback is attempting to throw the ball away, or something. That has to be the fourth-stupidest thing I've heard in the past 24 hours.

Re: NFL Talk

packers pulled it off like i thought they would. pretty damn good defense on vick. did not give up the big plays to maclin & jackson but did give up easy crossing routes to avant. aaron rodgers absolutely owned that eagles defense. and even though the packers were in control for most of the game, i still thought the eagles had a great shot to win at the end but came up just short.

unfortunately, up next they got the falcons, yet another team i like so i hope gb wins but either way a team i like moves on.
my picks- Patriots vs Jets (sanchez isnt good enough yet), Steelers vs ravens (think itll be a close defensive game, but steelers will pull it out), Packers @ Falcons (GB can beat any team in the nfl on any given week), bears vs seahawks (both teams are wildly inconsistent but i guess the home team has an edge here)

well went 2-2 on the weekend. Sad to see the chiefs and eagles lose but oh well. Thats what happens when you play like shit. How many games does the fat fuck have to mismanage for them to realize they need to hire someone else to clock manage for him? Christ.

Patriots vs Jets
Brady's playing as good as ever, NE has a run game, and jets are inconsistent. Pats should pull this one out with ease.

Steelers vs Ravens
This depends which Ravens show up. They looked pretty good once they got going against the Chiefs. Troy Polamalu is a much better safety than Eric Berry. as is the whole Pitt D. If i was a betting man this one's a push. But since im just picking for shits and giggles? Wash on Qb, Wash on RB, Ravens have better WR. I cant believe im saying this. I'm picking Ravens

Packers vs Falcons
The Packers have looked like the best team in the nfc recently despite their mass IR list. The falcons have been great at home though. I think this ends up being a dogfight. But i just can't trust the Falcons. I'm picking the Pack.

Bears vs Seahawks
The most inconsistent teams in the playoffs left. I'm not sold on the bears completely but i dont think hasselbeck will be the king of dragons again. Bears pull out with D and cutler/forte doing just enough.

I feel bad for Panther fans. Luck isn't coming out, so what are you guys going to pick? A scrub?

My predictions in bold

Packers @ Atlanta
Seattle @ Chicago

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh
New York @ New England

apparently there's a ton of depth at DE and they could use a replacement for peppers.

Yeah we have some decent young DE's but our DTs are utter shit. Hence Fairley instead of Bowers

I'm ok with the Ron Rivera hiring but am a little sad to see John Fox go (as far as off the field goes). He always awesome to me and my cousin at training camp. No matter how hot it was, he'd stay and make sure he signed everyone's shit.

But anyway enough Panther Talk...somebody talk about other teams! You know like ones still playing

i really wanna see GB go all the way, since they were my preseason picks, but the matchup vs matty ice will be touhg and assuming the pats get through... welll... good luck with that

I do personally think GB is the most impressive story of the teams left. Half their D is on IR and they had no running game all year. But they were pretty dominant the last half of the season. Its impressive. I wish more teams were able to give their qb of the future five years on the clipboard so they'd turn out like Rodger. I hate the Packers with every fiber of my being, but they're trying hard to make me like them.

I think of the team's left I'm mainly pulling for the Steelers (thanks to Mendenhall since I went to school with him, I also really like everyone on the team but Roethlisberger). If I had to pick in the NFC, I'd like to see the seahawks troll the world and make the SB at this point just because it would be funny.

But like you, i'm really not sure anyones beating the Patriots this year. Even their 16-0 season, they didn't look this good. The stats prove it too. Bradys insane and Belichik is a genius, I thought they were done when they traded Moss. But they adjusted the offense and with pretty much a bunch of no names got the best record in the leagu. And I hate them even more for it.

Dog whistle!

I'm being a dick, sort by SRS.

Standard violent rhetoric disclaimer about the eleven minutes of action and the single elimination playoffs. Also head injuries and seasons lengths. And something or other about college football.

Blame ESPN's columnists for the other stats then.

i can't say the pats looked good all season, but they definitely caught fire just after they dumped moss.

soooo many flags in this pitt/baltimore game. Fun so far though.

6 flags, 1 quarter, over 100 yards of penalties so far.

Re: NFL Talk

Went 1-1 on saturday.

Flacco and the Ravens choked it away in the 2nd half and let the steelers come back from 14 down despite them not playing all that well. Turnovers everywhere, but it was a fun game to watch. They were on the verge of fistfights after every play.

As far as GB-Atlanta goes....this image pretty much sums it up

Can't help but think this would have been more competitive with the Giants or Saints in the Seahawks' place...

You must mean bucs, the saints got beat in the first round by this team that couldnt give chicago game

*no idea how the saints won 11 games this year*

Superbowl team predictions? I'd like to see Jets / Packers.... but realistically I'd say Bears/ Steelers with Steelers winning.

*It's the play-offs, anything can happen. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was Jets / Packers.*

Re: NFL Talk

Mon Jan 17, 2011 11:03 am

Seriously Patriots? :(

Re: NFL Talk

Mon Jan 17, 2011 11:08 am

Right now based on how they've played the past month and in playoffs I'd pick Steelers/Packers. The jets havent so much beat anyone as not beat themselves. Sanchize is due for a 4 pick game.

2-2 again this week, putting me at an even 4-4

Next week: Im gonna say Packers over Bears, soldier field is nothing compared to ATL and the bears didnt look as good as the seahawks did bad today.

And steelers over jets. I could be way wrong on this, but Ben tends to win when it counts.
