Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Fair point. At the time it was difficult to tell what the real story is, and we can still only speculate, but it's remained a troubled and somewhat disappointing production.
Also, the update that came through yesterday seemed to be an earlier, more broken build.

They added Tables, wasn't expecting that

Nice, though the gameplay itself still looks slow and stiff. It highlights the basic problem with PWX: they add some cool stuff on a fairly regular basis, which is nice, but the fundamentals - the core gameplay experience - is still really clunky. That's what needs to be polished before this extra stuff. The latest build is reasonably stable, but not a lot of fun, and there's weird glitches in the menus (like the names of the rings appearing and disappearing).

I watched that for about a minute after the linked time, and saw three diving moves into the ring while the opponent was outside the ring.
I'll pass.

oh it's a pass still for sure.....
just interesting where it is now compared to 11 years ago when this topic started (that's crazy)

If they sped it up somewhat, it'd help. The AKI games were a bit slower than Yuke's, but not as slow as PWX. Outside of a First Blood match, a five minute time limit all but guarantees a draw too, so that's kind of a pointless option. Obviously there's issues like not having diving animations to the outside, but even in terms of basic grappling, striking, and match pace inside the ring, it isn't where it needs to be.
I still kind of feel that Uprising was better, but the current build is playable and shows flashes of what it could be. It's a slow journey, though.

Anybody try Fire Pro? My friend posted a video of him playing Mr. Perfect vs Brrt Hart at SummerSlam and it reminded me of Wrestlefest, which I was a huge fan of

I picked it up. It's OK; it's not really my style of wrestling game, though.

Andrew you prefer a more realistic "sim" game?
For me all that matters is that they fight like their real life counterparts with the same moves

Kind of, I guess. The Fire Pro mechanics are just very different from what I'm used to, so I don't really feel in control of what I'm doing.
