I haven't seen Cloverfield so I wasn't aware what that was referencing until I looked it up after watching the episode. I did get the Blair Witch reference though.

Well that was by far the worst conclusion to a 2 parter i've seen. Those jokes could've been shortened to half the screen time and done in 1 episode...Although the r/l guinea <insert things here> in the SP world was pretty hysterical

If that was the end then the payoff definitely wasn't worth it. Craig just became annoying and for one of their "epic" story arcs, it was pretty bland. Some fun stuff with the guinea pigs but for the most part it was pretty weak. I guess the show was poking fun at itself to a certain extent and the way the boys stumble into these adventures with government conspiracies and the like but as you said, it could have been done in one episode. Disappointing.

Cartman shits on Mr. Garrison's desk.
He eats his own underwear.
Butters has lost any semblance of innocence.
"You shot him in the dick"
Crazy, over the top plots without any of the charm of the first three seasons.
The ideas seem to be as equally absurd, yet poorly executed.
The boys have grown into teenagers with angst and harsher tones, and as a result anything the boys say have lost much of their gusto.
Watching The China Problem, I could only think that Matt and Trey raped South Park with that episode.

I don't know just how successful South Park is, but I feel the series had become just as mundane and tried as a new Simpsons episode. Or, they could just be going through a dry spell.

I liked the first three seasons but looking back, I'd say they did a lot better than that. Season 12 has been a bit of a letdown though.

Which website have people been watching the most recent episode on? I've tried all of the links at the top of this thread (which usually always work for me), and i havent been able to get it to work. It sounds like i'm not missing much, but still...

This season has been a disappointment so far. Haven't really been any classic memorable episodes this season , except the Wendy vs. Cartman episode. New episode today about yesterday's election.

Sounds promising, though I don't think they'll top "Douche and Turd".

Well, they certainly didn't try for another "Douche and Turd" which was for the best. Instead they made a pretty decent Ocean's Eleven homage/parody, well worth the "Obama and McCain aren't actually who they say they are" twist. Not the funniest episode in my opinion but quite refreshing that they avoided the obvious election-based plot and decided to do a more over the top story.

I think you could really tell they wrote this the thing the night before. Although I do wonder if they had 2 versions animated: 1 with randy celebrating obama and 1 with him celebrating mccain etc. It was alright: i was amused and had a smirk throughout: but very little that made me laugh out loud (pretty much just Ike's final line and Randy throwing Obama into every bad song)

Well, I don't think the South Park guys are idiots. So they, like everyone else, has known for months that Obama was the winner.

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if they took a chance with it but used pieces of each candidate's speech at the very last minute.

The latest episode was pretty good, the stuff with Brighton's father was funny and annoying at the same time so it really built up to the moment where he got punched, making it very satisfying because you're just waiting for someone to do it. It's not their best sen-up of fads and pop culture, I think the Chinpokemon and Queer Eye episodes were better in that regard but it was funny to see the boys do their best to avoid it, only to eventually embrace it and still find themselves outcasts. I liked Craig's callback to the two part episode but I hope they drop it soon, he's starting to come off more whiny and annoying than amusing. Looks like they're finishing strong but on the whole it's not been their best season in my opinion.

I thought this one was pretty good although yes the dad was just annoying as hell. Craig's callback was ok because it was just that 1 line. If he had kept going it would've been alrgiht. Definitely not their best season (do they have side projects of some sort going?) but they're still making me laugh and killing a half hour a week for me.

What disturbed me a little is that despite the fact I've never seen High School Musican (and don't intend to), I'm familiar enough with the basic premise to get the whole reversal of the plot and appreciate the parody.

An end to a mediocre season. Episode was okay...loved them all playing CoD 5 in the beginning. Those kids seem to be into computer games , WoW , Guitar Hero , CoD 5... :applaud:

Ix: they're kids what do you expect? Also Matt and Trey have admitted whenever they put a video game in a show its just because they're excited about it and are enjoying it. I thought the episode wasnt half bad but maybe because i know too many goth/vamp kids. the goth kids burning down hot topic was cracking me the fuck up
