It's going to be great summer. Move in this saturday so I got a lot of cleaning and packing to organise, plus utilities to get hooked up. Yet I get out of my little on-campus living room for good!

That is like my dream in life. No shit. Build a home studio and live there with friends. Can i please come over? :P

I'm finally getting a new laptop. I'm not entirely sure what type, but it's a Toshiba. My current Acer Travelmate 370 is almost 3 years old. God damn time flies quickly. *sigh* .

Oh god, Acer sucks so hard. Getting a Toshiba or Dell is a good choice, but do your research (www.epinions.com, etc) to get the best bang for your buck. Personally, I'd get a Mac laptop

I order laptops through my school's laptop program. The school requires every student to have a laptop.

When I first started high school there, they had 2 different Acers to buy. I got the smaller, lighter one.

The school started off with Toshibas, then stupidly changed to Acer (nuffin but problems with my acer) and have now gone back to Toshibas.

If you buy through the school, it costs a shitload but you get really good insurance, free technical service from the school's laptop technicians, only costs $100-150AUD for damage repairs/replacement if stolen.

It's a good deal since I've broken my screen once, got a few broken case parts fixed, and over 12 re-images.

Edit: Apparently there are 2 diff. Toshibas on offer. A black and a white one (my sister gave me this information, she's also starting high school there next year so she's getting her own laptop) and she tells me to get the black one because the white one is smaller and she doesn't want me to have it  ... girls...

We'll see how we go.

Going to try and set up a bit of a studio setup. Going to get a macbook soon, and a audio interface and a shure sm57 mic. Then I should do same basic recording etc.

I play bass mainly, but have taught myself guitar for song writing purposes. I also play a little harmonica, but I'm still very much learning.

I think the previous name has run its course, so I've changed it to a Futurama reference.

Sat Oct 28, 2006 11:40 am

It should have "The" at the beginning and "Thread" at the end.

Hooray for Futurama, though.

So i'm in the best mood i've probly been in the past year and a half....i'm going to summarize a really long story....and like most stories it start with "there was this girl"

So there's this girl i know from sports. We met about 8-9 years ago when we both started. Since on our team most of the kids were dumber jocks and we were a little bit nerdier jocks....we always hung out...needless to say, we became close and eventually, being young and stupid there was eventually tension for us to date....The only problem is, neither of us told the other one we liked them until she graduated from high school (she never said cuz she's very guarded, i never said cuz i'm an idiot) and i had a pretty serious g/f (she's one year ahead of me)...so we curse our own stupidity and she goes off to college...then..things happen, we end up not talking basically here entire freshman year here.....then it turns out i end up going to the same school as her (due to the lack of good selection of wheelchair sports schools)...eventually things got back to where we're closer than ever (since we actually live near one another now)...now came the dilemma, naturally the feelings never went away....so the other night we're talking...and for the first time since getting here....she admitted she thinks about us dating too and that maybe we should think about it a little bit, just take it slow.....all i can say guys is i'm floating on a cloud grinning like an idiot since......there's my good news part of the thread, hoped you enjoyed the story time..;-)

Thu Nov 02, 2006 2:44 am

^ That's awesome. Definitely take it slow, but it's great that you're both open to dating. The initial feeling is always awesome, so cherish it as long as you can :)

Damn it illini, if it were up to me I would only allow you to make 1 reference per month regarding your disability. It makes it harder for me to flame you. :P

Nice "2nd chance" story though, made me feel like a teenager again for a moment, then it's back to reality that I'm a 20-something that has the mind of 14 year old.
