Me watching the QPR match:

Two great chances for QPR early on that they somehow don't score with: "How are we so shit at defending?" :facepalm2:

Liverpool take 1-0 lead thanks to an own goal: "We don't deserve this, but we'll take it"

Vargas scores equaliser in 87th minute: "Typical Liverpool, throw away a win again" *Turns TV off in frustration*

Coutinho scores in 90th minute: "Holy shit, what a lucky escape" *Turn TV back on* :o
Vargas scores again to make it 2-2 in 92nd minute: "Goddamn it, we are shit" *Turns TV off in frustration again* :cussing:

Another own goal scored to give Liverpool 3-2 lead in 95th minute: "What is this madness?!? *Turn TV back on again*

Basically, if QPR weren't completely terrible themselves they would have won 3-0. Liverpool are a pathetic shadow of the team that nearly won the league last season. :(

Martin Skrtel likes that post.

I think the description sums this up perfectly.. "Mohamed Salah isn't too good at shooting."

Somebody had to fill the void left by Torres, Salah stepped up.

It really makes me wonder why I gave a crap when he signed for Chelsea instead of Liverpool back in January.

Seems that Balotelli was happy to score last night

Balotelli is a clown. And not the funny, entertaining kind.

I just hate it when Bayern betas us, specially when it is because of a penalty awarded after a freaking flop.

An Australian team from Sydney just won the Asian Champions League. Huge achievement seeing as they have only existed for 3 years.

On the way they beat the two finalists from last season, and the billionaires from Saudi Arabia in the final. It's like Celtic winning the European CL by beating Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona along the way.

Now they head to the club world cup. If they beat Cruz Azul in the quarter finals they will play Real Madrid.

One of the Saudi players was a complete asshole. In stoppage time he headbutted and Sydney player and after the final whistle he spat at the same player when he went to shake hands. :shake:

I think Southampton somehow did a Space Jam style talent stealing from Liverpool during the Lovren and Lallana negotiations. They are flying this season and Liverpool seem destined for a mid-table finish.

What's terrible is Arsenal giving up a 3 goal lead in the second half to end the match tied at 3-3 with Anderlecht. :facepalm2:

Still not as terrible as Manchester City with no wins in their group.

Kolo Toure beasting for Liverpool tho, stopping Ronaldo's streak of consecutive games with a goal scored at 13 games.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

At least Arsenal are scoring goals. I honestly can't even remember the last goal Liverpool scored or who scored it.

Speaking of goals - Messi scored two against Ajax and equalled Raul's champions league record of 71. He's done it in 52 less games as well

I wonder who will get to 100 first? Maybe Ronaldo on current form. I think Messi will end up with more goals though simply because he is 2 years younger.

My man Phil doesn't keep this thread alive anymore?

Sad thing about Suarez. He would have been better off staying in Liverpool. Now he is just a secondary nobody. To think, one mistake from Gerrard in the last season caused this state of Liverpool. Feel bad about Rodgers.

I'm really enjoying MU this season. And Arsenal is entertaining as well, Sanchez and Ramsey specially. Though, the Arsene Wenger is fired rumors hurt. Lampard probably the biggest shocker this season in EPL. Who would have thought! At this moment, it seems like Chelsea-ManC-ManU-Arsenal. I'm thinking Arsenal will be the better team in the long run against Newcastle.

CR7 is a simple choice for Ballon d'Or this year. Messi isn't even close. Real seems unstoppable at the moment. Wouldn't be surprised if they won the CL again. Because Bayern or any other team is not that consistent this year. But Borussia though :P Relegated in league and Group Champion in CL

This season has been too depressing to keep posting about :(

With Suarez sold and Sturridge injured Liverpool are missing 55 goals from last season. Sterling has gone from the third guy to the main guy and is struggling with the pressure.

Rodgers has proved once again that he shouldn't be in charge of transfers. None of the guys he signed have looked particularly great. Balotelli has been lazy and selfish and has only scored a couple of goals.

The team doesn't look anything like it did last season, apart from the defending. Every game is the same: 80 minutes of crap and then 10 frantic minutes of looking like scoring a goal, but nothing happens.

The upcoming Arsenal game starts at 3am and I won't be staying up to watch it. This team gives me no reason to think they will win at the moment.

Bayern have the German league won already. It's ridiculous. I think Dortmund have had some injuries. But they should still be higher up the table.

Ronaldo is in crazy form. 32 goals before the halfway point of the season already. Messi only has 21. He needs to lift his game

Martin Skrtel recovers from having half his head stomped off by Giroud (accidentally) to score the equaliser.

I actually felt that Liverpool were the better team and deserved to win. I suppose you can't win though if you defend like a bunch of amateurs :|

Considering Arsenal had both the lowest possession and highest shots against them in over a decade, I'll still take the 1 point even if they sucked finishing off a team down to 10 men.

Wenger saying that some of his players are still traumatized of what happened last year. :facepalm2:

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Tue Dec 23, 2014 12:51 pm

I think a few people were traumatized by Cazorla's wardrobe malfunction :cheeky:

The Asian Cup is coming up in a couple of weeks here in Australia. I think Japan are the team to beat. Unless they face us in the final, because then Tim Cahill will just destroy them like he always does.

In other news, Steven Gerrard looks like he is heading to play for LA Galaxy at the end of the season.

It's a bit sad because he is a legend at Liverpool, but it's probably the right decision for both him and the club. He is 34 now and isn't playing at the same level as he was a few years ago.

Shame he never got that premier league title he wanted. Though, I guess he can only blame himself for that (last season at least) :facepalm2:

Massimo Luongo scored a great goal in the final and was named as the player of the tournament. Doubt he will be playing in the third tier of English football for much longer.

Yeah, Mabil looks promising. I think he had a trial at Ajax recently, but I don't know if they plan to sign him or not though.

Hopefully he goes somewhere like Holland or Belgium soon to take the next step in his career.

Suddenly things don't seem so bad. Liverpool are unbeaten in 9 league games, Balotelli scored the winner against Spurs and Sturridge is finally back from injury. Emre Can and Sakho have been beasts in defense and that has helped improve the team immensely.

Things are getting really interesting in the race for top 4 now. I wonder if City will push Chelsea all the way or actually fall back into the fight for the CL spots with these other teams.
