That's a surprise. I guess it confirms his status as an upper midcard wrestler who will occasionally main event.

WTF? I keep getting mails about people replying to this thread, even though I unchecked the option.

Now that you've replied to the thread without that option ticked, you should stop receiving the emails.

WWE.com wrote:STAMFORD, Conn. – In accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE has suspended Jeff Hardy for 60 days, for his second violation of the company’s policy.

So this is the reason why Y2J won the IC championship. I didn't know that he failed the test for the second time. Also, another suspension will result on his release.

I take it that they would replace him at the Money in the Bank match at 'Mania.

Thu Mar 13, 2008 9:08 am

I read that yesterday as well, along with the announement that he's been dropped from MITB. It's a shame, aside from the first suspension Hardy seemed to have gotten past all those problems that saw him released the first time. Hopefully, this ultimatum will be a wakeup call and he'll stay out of trouble.

Y2J holding the IC belt at least gives me a reason to watch Raw.

Thu Mar 13, 2008 10:24 pm

I don't think it's going to improve the booking for the belt as long as Y2J is on the edge of the main event picture. It's the same situation Jeff Hardy has been in. Having him drop the belt to someone makes his main event status questionable but as long as he holds it, the belt is going to waste because it's not a bit lower down on the card, the stepping stone to the main event that it once was. Jericho is beyond that level now so it kind of places both him and the title in limbo unless he's going back to the midcard.

Watched Raw, Kennedy's theme has been changed. Sound more like Maria's.

So I've started to watch wrestling again after a long hiatus, and immediately realized why I stopped watching the WWE product for so long...

it's just so damn miserably sad.

But then again, I guess I'm too used to watching Puro these days.

From what I've heard, TNA has a habit of making quite a few booking blunders as well despite holding their own when it comes to in-ring performance.

wrestlezone.com wrote:Just days after being suspended by WWE for 60 days due to another drug violation, there's even more bad news for Jeff Hardy.

Last night, his home in Cameron, North Carolina burned to the ground. Hardy and his girlfriend were not home when it happened, but virtually everything Hardy owned was destroyed. Sadly, his pet dog was lost in the fire.

No other details are available at this time.

I feel sorry for Jeff. First, he was suspended, then he got his house burned and the worst of all, lost his dog. :(

I don't feel sorry for Hardy for his suspension, he has to take responsibility for his actions; he did something wrong and he has to face the consequences, the same as anyone else. That is terrible news about his home burning to the ground and losing his possessions and his dog. It's fortunate both he and his girlfriend are safe.

They have talented workers that have made a name for themselves elsewhere other than the WWE, and are mostly shoved to the side. TNA continuously push WWE talent, basically making them look like WCW#2.

I knew everything was going downhill when Samoa Joe had his streak snapped by Kurt Angle. That was a big blunder on booking's part. TNA as an alternative is another thing wrong with North American wrestling nowadays.

Mon Mar 17, 2008 1:21 pm

I've read a few independant columns bemoaning their tendency to overbook matches or go with non-sensical/cliched angles and turns as well. Perhaps a case of Vince Russo desperately trying to recapture what he contributed to in the "Attitude" era. Kurt Angle holding all the belts in the company at once didn't sound like a particularly good idea to me.

Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:32 pm

Lance Storm does some really good blog entries on TNA, it's worth a read.

Mon Mar 17, 2008 5:40 pm

It still doesn't hold a candle to Kane's Myspace.

Mon Mar 17, 2008 7:23 pm

Signs are pointing to Joe winning the belt on Lockdown though. I sure hope that happens coz the only thing I'm really enjoying in TNA right now is the Machine guns and Stone Cold Sharkboy.

Mon Mar 17, 2008 8:51 pm

I've seen that on a couple of news and rumours sites. I don't really follow TNA but since the news is there, I do have a casual interest in what they're doing.

Tue Mar 18, 2008 10:03 am

Just for fun, some early appearances by Orton and Cena:

Taker surely knows how to welcome the new guys.

If it's Joe you mean, I sure hope it happens. It's been years since they've swerved his title run. As for the Guns, they are the most fun tag team I've ever seen. Comarable to Londrick. And Sharkboy does a spot on impression of Stone Cold.

Tue Mar 18, 2008 1:11 pm

Yeah I was talking about Joe, I've read rumours that there's plans to put the title on him. I've heard about the Stone Cold parody as well. I guess it's harmless enough and humourous gimmicks have long been a part of wrestling but I would have thought TNA would want to try and be a bit more original and reference the WWE as little as possible.

Taker to Cena: "You've been here only for 2 weeks, I'm here for 12 years."
