The faces really don't suck. Some of them are really, really outstanding.

So far the really great, real looking faces that I've run across have been: Gerald Wallace, Ricky Davis, Shawne Williams, Earl Boykins, Kenyon Martin and Adam Morrison.

The really bad ones have been Danny Granger, Jeff Foster, Primoz Brezec, Randy Foye and Mike James.

Other then that, they all look good, but not superbly good.

Even the bad ones look good from the regular camera view though, the graphics really are outstanding.

yeah I've noticed that in 2k7 (and 2k6) that the faces are really spot on, or really shitty and not anywhere in between.

As Yohance said its the best basketball game to date! The animations can sometimes get in the way, especially the lead pass on the fast break. The CAP is so intuitive thats its difficult. There is so much to adjust. The streetball mode is fun, especially with the And1 moves they added. Also due to the signature shots the game is more challenging. Each release is different so you have to really know your players. I do pretty good with the Lakers because I watch them all the time. Its hard playing with other teams, even the good ones due to the fact that I don't know them well enough to know their shots. They nailed Marion's shot, Kobe's, Odom's, Wade's, pretty much everybodys. Why is Turiaf not in the game though??? They have Farmar but no Turiaf. Thats pretty much my only gripe at the moment. Most of the other trades are in the game, Harrington was a FA though.

I really hate the fact that I have to wait till Christamas to get a 360 :x Live 07 on PC is full of so many bugs I wonder who on earth tested it :| As soon as I get a 360, 2K7 will be one of the first games for me to get :)

Nope they didn't get the film and convert it to computer, they said that they had to study the players shots and find good athletes who could pull those same motions off which they did :P

It's true..the create a player almost has too many little options to adjust...it overwhelming. However, if someone has the patience they can create a good reprisentation of michael jordan etc. Not to mention..as always you can select from a huge pool of names..including "michael jordan" so announcers say it.

All i did was create myself for 24/7 mode..which i just completed. It was like playing nba ballers ..cause it has a story that is fun as hell. At the end if you win it all..you get drafted to the nba..as well as another pleasant suprise i wont spoil.

I'm about to start my association with me as the PG of the cavs

I've got a question, are the all star jerseys for 07 in there or do they have to be unlocked with a code?

Very true.

But I think at this point, I'm willing to get 2k7 for my PS2. I'm 90-95% sure I want to get 2k7 instead of Live at this point...

it's already there + the las vegas court

Finaly got it for PS2. My expectations weren't very high at all, but I gotta say I'm dissapointed in the gameplay. The opponent is taking alot smarter shots than last year, but the passes are just horrible this year. Alot worse than last year. On the fly subs is pretty cool except I read somewhere that when you open up the on the fly coach settings or w/e, and dont move around your player, that the CPU will take over that player until your done making your coaching changes or until you move the player again. And I can't seem to get it to work. Half time report is exactly the same. I coulda sworn I saw current gen with that Kenney stamp of approval thingy. But I know on IGN they showed video replays at half, and I still got pictures no videos. But anyways, with some sliders adjustments I KNOW the game will get better. Already started my Cavs association and already got my ass whooped by the wizards. Damn I wish i had a next gen console.

well it had better be good on 360, i wanna get it

Just when I was ready to fully switch to being a 2k fan, NBA 2k7 comes out and ruins my expectations.

I just played a few minutes on the PS2 version and I can say that NBA 2k7 is basically Nba 2k6.5. They have added nothing significant to anything in the game.

A few things that I have noticed that have changed
- A bit better defensive AI
- Automatic jump passes and weird lob passes (wait! that's a live thing! Why do you copy this shitty thing?)
- 3 team trades in association (I heard they are almost impossible to work though.)
- Signature shot for Marion (wipee?) and some other people, but not sure. Not that many. If any. Just kidding. Marion has his ugly shot for sure.
- Tons of more sliders. (Or so I think...Or maybe it's because they all seem to be in fewer screens)

That's it. Oh they made some other miniscule changes like the new playcalling system and whatever but it doesn't change things much.

I hope the sliders make it a much better game because I am very disappointed. It seems like they gave absolutely no effort on the current gen version. I've never felt the need to buy an xbox 360 until I saw the differences.

I gotta admit it's a good change from Live 2005 & 06... I played it and I would've purchased it by now except I don't have a 360. I'm still skeptical on buying 2k7 for my PS2, but I'll probably pick it up at work tomorrow.

intuitive means that it's easy to pick up and run with, there's nothing to figure out, it's easy to use. therefore nothing can be so intuitive it's difficult. that's an oxymoron.

Anyone know of a 2k7 Forum similar to this one?

Sat Sep 30, 2006 2:14 am

Nothing against live, dont take it personally... I like both games a lot but i just cant play it without the subs so utill they fix that i got to play my 2k!

Anyone know of a forum like this for the 2k series?

i know 2ksports.com has a forum but its no where near as cool as this one :P

Sat Sep 30, 2006 2:18 am

after the latest nba live release, i think you'll have no trouble finding 2k discussion here.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 2:25 am

Moved to "Other Games".

No idea how you would think this was a NBA Live 07 issue.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:26 am

ok?...when did i use the word intuitive? what are you on about?

Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:41 am

Not only did you not say intuitive, but he's wrong about what intuitive means.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 7:42 am

I mentioned intuitive, not Yohance. What I meant was that there are so many things to adjust for the CAP that it makes it very difficult to get right. Everything is where it should be and you can adjust almost everything. But at the same time there are so many options that you tweak away forever to get things just right. You can even adjust existing players as you wish. I could make Boykins 7ft. tall if I wanted too. Almost everything could be tweaked. Not sure if anyone has played Fight Night Round 3 on the 360 but its very similar. Each facet of the face has at least 5 different ways to adjust it, there are a ton of attributes and tendencies to adjust along with signature shots and fadeaways. Its the most detailed CAP I've seen for a sports title. But it may take you 20+ minutes to create the player.

For those that don't think the game is a true upgrade from 2K6 I noticed that most of you are on current gen. There isn't much more they can do for it much like Live on the PC as long as its ported from the current gen. On the 360 2K7 is a major upgrade as far as animations and gameplay. The crowd goes nuts on dunks and at the end of a close game. I don't have any gripes other than the occasional jersey glitch. It plays like a true NBA game. If I hit a couple shots with Kobe the doubleteam will come the next time I touch the ball. The fact that you can choose between a chest pass and a bounce pass is the sh*t! Or if the defender is fronting you can lob it over. I'm so psyched about 2K7, sorry Live. I will be getting it on PC just so I can do the Allstar Weekend and make a few patches.

Wow people complaining about too many customization features, never thought I'd see that in 2k create a player. X360 looks and sounds soo good. But w/e im happy with PS2 2k7
