I was underwhelmed by the demo. Feels like it did 3 years ago.

Pretty bored right now, I finished all the major games I was playing so I decided to go through my Steam account to see what might be worth replaying. I was about to reinstall Assassin's Creed Brotherhood since I only played it once, but there really isn't any "other way" to actually play that game, you can just try to complete as many of the missions as possible (like GTA)... So I ended up reinstalling Mirror's Edge, it wasn't a fantastic game but it was sort of unusual and cool I guess.

omg Sanctum you all should have bought it for $3 during the Steam Sale, then we could have ditched this place and started the Sanctum Series Center.

The panic of tower defense when you realize your defense didn't extend far enough is taken to another level as you chase them down firing after them in a desperate attempt to minimize the damage.

The co-op is DELICIOUS, since you have personal resources, omg perfect, no having morons stealing it from you.

Although they can fuck up the defense grid, haven't actually had anyone do that so far in a few games. Someone generally runs out and sets basic stuff up, and people just build off of it/upgrade instead of fucking it up. Sorta like how people are in Iron Grip.

And the teamwork if people are willing to discuss, omg. One game we built a great ground defense but a sudden air wave wrecked us hard, so all we did was bank resources until the next air wave and built this epic air defense, didn't have to do anything the towers wiped the wave out. And having two guys with upgraded snipers, then someone runs in and throws out a freeze and we just wipe them out, hott.

This is what I thought Monday Night Combat should have been.

They're still bullshots. What they do is render the single frame at a massively high resolution and detail level, then resize it down and it's uploaded. Same as the photo modes in Forza and everything else. The game itself does not play at that resolution and detail level.

Not to mention all the AA.

Shrinking them afterwards is doubleplusgood on EA's part because it's like when you put something on a smaller screen you can mask detail loss and fake AA.

And like I told you, that video is too incredibly grainy to be relevant.

the video was posted to show the lighting in game, which was dumb because by your logic is was put through the same post processing as the screenshots.

if you can't tell during gameplay, but in replay and upload "mode" it looks that nice, then does it really matter?

No, it's clearly not. Even discounting how shit quality the video there, doesn't appear to be any of the post-processing in the gameplay. Where's the DoF? The shading is far simpler on everything in sight, etc. They probably bull up the replays too like GT and others do since they don't have any of other processing needed as the location and movement of everything is scripted.

The bullshots are simply not possible to be done in real time on the consoles, even at the resolution of the screens. Unless it runs at like 5 fps.

Uh, yeah, it does. They're bullshots no matter how much you delude yourself into thinking it looks in game.

when playing from a "god" camera view like most non-Backbreaker football games, does having the game run with post-processing matter? The tricks turn on for the post play cutscenes and replay mode, but if you are that far away from the players and grass, does it matter? As far as the untrained eye knows, the game is running like that all the time. So why discount the graphics for playing some tricks during the zoomed out gameplay?

Stop arguing with a position nobody took, they're bullshots. End of story. Deal with it.

Just like you have to deal with the truth about Saints Row 2.

Besides, you didn't buy 2011 GOTY, the Kobe Bryant of video games, Sanctum for $3.75 during the Steam sale which means you're discredited forever. QED.

Check and...Mate.

Obviously I pwns the Benji for playing 2K11 with 4 minute quarters & casual sliders, Backbreaker footbawls, and Minecraft. Post-process me nuts, I got some gold ingot to smelt.

yep, the NG NBA Live's are the definition of Bullshot.......however there is a difference when the promo images are bullshotted, and ones that are user generated, in-game.

Bullshots doesn't mean just photoshopped like when you remove half a player from the image.

95% or more of the 360/PS3 games have bullshots sent out in the press that are taken from a higher resolution single frame render (or the PC version), same thing as NCAA, Forza, etc. do for the user generated "ingame" shots.

I'll have to try the demo if there is one. I can take in-game screens during actual gameplay.

I think Ben is right, though. I have read a few complaints about NBA live models not looking as detailed during gameplay as they do during cutscenes and replays.

But, I did look at a few screens on the ea site, and they were far less impressive than the ones posted in this thread. So, it could have just been good replay screenshot taking.

so it's like taking a 1080p screenshot of a game that maxes out at 720?

It's like taking the PC version at 1600p and turning AA and AF up to 16x, turning on all the post-processing effects, taking a screenshot, then re-sizing it down to be 1280x720 and sending it to IGN where they post it as a screenshot of the 360 version.
