It's become a badge of honour to hate Cena though. I thought this article offered some interesting thoughts on the matter.

I suppose Orton will be capturing the title though if Jericho does return I'd like to see him have a run with the belt as a heel champion. Meanwhile, Shawn Michaels may not return to in-ring action.

He still wasn't beaten, and Hulk Hogan is/was a terribly mediocre wrestler that did great promos.

Hogan's just like Cena, Cena's just like Hogan. They both have limited movesets... but they don't. And it's the fact that Hogan can work a crowd that Cena can only dream of doesn't help. Cena's character is best suited for an anti-hero type of character, a Steve Austin type of character, where he's a heel and a face. That way he'll get approval across the board rather than just be appealing to the majority of the 8-14 year old kids and their mothers... and the odd teenage-adult.

BK2, you gotta check out Hogan's matches in Japan with Chono... you'd be amazed.

He obviously has the ability, having been in the business so long. However there's no way NJPW would allow him to have a match even resembling his WWF/WCW matches. I don't doubt that he can enhance his workrate when it's necessary; I'm just saying his average workrate in America was poor and often masked by the extreme pop gained from "hulking up".

WWE.com said that the next WWE Champion could be from the other brands. I see Undertaker on the picture since the Batista-Khali feud seems to go longer. And besides, 'Taker has no scheduled match (yet) on No Mercy.

Undertaker and Kane are booked to take on MVP and Matt Hardy at No Mercy, but I'd certainly like to see him jump back to RAW and have a long reign with the title.

I think that match was scrapped.

Orton is the new WWE champ... and Batista retains his title...

That match is happening at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday.

Vince awarded Orton the title at the beginning of the show, but Triple H goaded Vince into giving him a title match against Orton, which he promptly won. He defended it against Umaga successfully later, then Orton beat him at the end of the show in a Last Man Standing match with an RKO on the announce table to regain the title.

I would have preferred a Fatal Four Way with Orton, Kennedy, Undertaker, and Jericho or something like that.

I guess they were trying to shake things up a bit by having the title on the line three times in one night but I would've preferred one big main event too. As it stands, Randy Orton has two title reigns out of the whole thing.

I know a lot of people will be thrilled that Cena isn't the champion anymore but I have to say, I don't care for Orton being given a title run. He is talented in the ring and he's been doing a great job as one of the top heels in the company at the moment but I hate to see people with (alleged) bad attitudes getting rewarded with title runs. What I really dislike is that he violated the Wellness policy, for the second time no less, and not only does he avoid getting so much as a slap on the wrist but he gets to hold one of the top belts in the company.

Combine that with the WWE stressing the importance of the Wellness policy only to have McMahon wrestle in a seemingly "enhanced" state and Triple H bulking up significantly after looking somewhat leaner upon his return at Summerslam and you have to wonder what kind of message they're sending; the Wellness policy will be enforced and you will be punished, unless you happen to be the chairman, the chairman's son-in-law or important enough to the storyline?

I still think the WWE is getting a bad rap with all the talk of steroids and Vince McMahon being blamed for wrestlers' deaths but when they send a mixed message like that they're kind of bringing it upon themselves.

That was a kickass RAW. No one even saw HBK coming, not even the internet reporters. More surprises, twist and turns would be totally awesome.

Any signs of DX coming back? That gimmick saved WWE last year.

EDIT: Good thing that Shawn's back.

I'd like to see it. I know a lot of smarks rolled their eyes at some of their antics but I found them entertaining. As great as Triple H is in a more serious face role or as an arrogant heel, he's also great at playing the comical face who knows when to get serious.

Can't say I'm loving the "new" WWE Championship design though:

So much for Cena losing the title leading to the restoration of a more traditional design.

I see no difference  though I noticed that the WWE logo doesn't spin anymore. I've seen No Mercy and I really would want to have the old belt back (the belt before the spinner ones).

Yeah, I agree that they should bring the old belt.

New Match was announced on Cyber Sunday, Undertaker vs Batista in a special ref match. JBL, Austin and mick foley are the choices. I think Undertaker will not win in this one, maybe he'll be screwed by the ref or someone might interfere... but i hope Undertaker have a one last run for the championship before he retires( read it on wrestlezone)

That's the only difference, the lack of the spinner. With the rest of the design remaining the way it is, it might as well still have the spinner. A return to the traditional design is long overdue.

It seems unlikely that Batista will lose the title this early unless they want to quickly revert back to the original plan of giving Undertaker a long reign. I still hope that happens at some point.

I wouldn't be surprised if JBL gets the vote and then costs the Undertaker the title or messes up the match some other way. I still don't care for JBL as a commentator but if that's going to be his role then I don't think he should be getting involved in angles like this or getting TV time to cut promos against Rey Mysterio (and in the past Teddy Long).

That could lead to a "one-night only" JBL match at the next PPV (Survivor Series) to make Taker's title hunt longer.

King Booker's and his wife's release weren't much of a surprise. Booker doesn't need the WWE, but vice versa doesn't apply here looking at WWE's current shape.

Daivari's release did surprise me though... no wonder why he jobbed to Ron Simmons after one spinebuster.
