Rooting for Shaqiri to score another hat-trick

lolz at USA players celebrating like they made it to the finals after LOSING

I predict the winners to be all those on the left side also.
Time to look back at my other predictions.
A: Brazil, Mexico
B: Spain, Netherlands
C: Colombia, Japan
D: Italy, England (really wanted to put Uruguay but I seriously doubt if Suarez would even be in game shape if he recovers on time)
E: France, Switzerland
F: Argentina, Nigeria
G: Germany, USA
H: Belgium, Russia
A is good. I'm not even mad being wrong with Spain. Serves me right for trusting the Japanese. Crash and burn with D lol. E got it right. Niggeria doing it, my niggers. Bingo again in G. smh Russia letting themselves be held down by a bunch of Africans that speak French.
11 out 16. That prediction in group D is such a big fail.
Winner: Germany (homer pick)
Runner-Up: Brazil Italy
Top Scorer: Romelu Lukaku (Belgium); if healthy - Luis Suarez
Best Player: Neymar or Lionel Messi (Argentina), there I said it.
Best Young Player (U21): Marco Verratti (Italy) Julian Draxler (Germany) or Raheem Sterling (England)
Best Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Buffon (Italy); if healthy - Manuel Neuer
Big name not getting out of the group stage: Portugal
There goes half of my predictions lol.
Stupid Suarez. Not counting on Draxler to do anything anytime soon, I still think Sterling did a good job too bad his team sucks. Though Portugal didn't advance Italy is still a bigger name than them so I had to mark it. Only consolation for getting those wrong was that I didn't pick Iker Casillas

That Neuer pick is looking shaky after that game against Ghana but who would have thought that Ted Mosby would be doing very well as goalkeeper of Mexico. Costa Rica goalie (and defense) is also doing well conceding only 1 goal in the group stage considering they're with Italy, Uruguay, and England.
Messi and Neymar look like they are trying to show in this World Cup who should be 'the man' in Barca next season. I don't mind a Messi-Neymar show as long as Germany wins or Brazil doesn't win.

Good loss America. On to the next round!
I know nothing about futbol. Didn't play it in school and I've only watched a couple games. However, as long as the USA is in it, I'm a diehard fan. So here goes my predictions for the next round:
Brazil
Uruguay
Mexico
Costa Rica
France
Germany
Argentina
USA

Good to see your love for USA. Though, I hardly doubt they will beat the slow finishers Belgium. They haven't played up to expectations yet, but still are the favorites their imo.
Props to Jurgen Klinsmann for moving through the shitstorm caused by not picking Donovan and taking his team to the 2nd round.

I would have liked to see us win the group to get algeria, but we did get on the "easier" side of the bracket, so that's a plus if we happen to upset Belgium

The US are pretty sizable underdogs. The line is very similar to that of the Portugal match.

David Luiz is a bitch.
Dani Alves is a bitch.
Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo doing great work for Chile so far, hope it carries in the penalty shootout.
If only Arturo Vidal was healthy Brazil would be crying right now.
Sun Jun 29, 2014 4:41 am
Chile outplayed the Brazilians, and deserve to advance. Let's see how these penalties go. Bravo is the superior of the keepers.
Sun Jun 29, 2014 5:23 am

Crossbar, the real MVP.
Sun Jun 29, 2014 5:29 am
Fuck. Hell of a run, hell of a match. The team was gassed out at OT. Downside of pressuring the ball all match. I'm so proud of all of them, they gave their heart out, Medel and Vidal were injured and still played. Whole team has a huge pair of balls and we as a country are proud of them.
Brazil looks so shaky, man. In Confederations Cup they looked amazing, what happened?
Sun Jun 29, 2014 5:43 am
Chile played such a good game that it was a heartbreaking loss even if I'm not Chilean. Eyes swelled up when I saw the players and fans crying, like Bill Clinton I felt their pain
I didn't even bother to change the channel or mute the TV when Pitbull and the shitty official World Cup song came up, because of the loss.
What's more annoying is that when Brazil faces Colombia in the quarterfinals Brazil is going against a Falcao-less Colombia and probably win too even if they are outplayed by Colombia.

We feel your pain, it's the same we have here. Medel ran 11 km (about 7 miles) with a torn muscle. El Pitbull is a beast, deserves to play in a top club soon.
I think Uruguay pulls the upset.

If Colombia loses this one I'm gonna grab a table leg...
HAAAAAAMEEEEEESSS!

James Rodriguez is going to find himself a very, very rich man after this World Cup.
Sun Jun 29, 2014 2:24 pm
He already plays for a billionaire's plaything in a tax haven.
Monaco are in the champions league this season, but maybe they will cash in on him whilst his value is high. They are already selling Falcao to Real Madrid apparently.
I'd love Rodriguez at Liverpool if Suarez gets sold.

Sanchez & Vargas were a disappointment. Also, I didn't like how Chile just kept killing time in 30 min extra time period. If they kept attacking, they might have scored.
Also, they didn't have a decent GK. While Julio was incredibly good. But as the commentator kept saying, "Brazil is no threat even if they make it through."
Mon Jun 30, 2014 4:05 am
After playing excellently for most of the match Mexico defense had a brain fart in the final minutes costing them the win. :smh:
Why they interviewing dick Van Persie, he did shite in the game even if he's the team captain.
Mexican interviewer sounds like a little girl.
Now time for Ochoa to come to Arsenal!
Mon Jun 30, 2014 5:11 am
A lot of Mexican fans on my Facebook complaining about "flopping". There's a difference between flopping to attract attention to contact and outright diving. Unfortunately in basketball both terms are used interchangeably

Shame on them, how dare they to get tired.

Not decent? According to most websites and critics, Bravo has been one of the best GK of the tournament. Even in FIFA's website he's ranked 3rd.

It was a foul and a flop, IMO.

The issue is that even though it was a penalty, if Robben hadn't "flopped" the penalty would never have been given. This is a major issue if you ask me, since a penalty is (almost) never given when the player doesn't fall.

Mexico was clearly the better team in the first half. Once the Dutch switched to their 4-3-3 (3-3-4 later on, and Mexico really wasn't anywhere anymore) system they outclassed Mexico, who were dead tired and the Dutch were still fit. Let them gas themselves out in the first half, then attack. Pretty smart if you ask me.
Mon Jun 30, 2014 7:27 am
Mexico settled in defending to protect that 1 goal lead later on instead of attacking which is their strength, their offense kept that lead because the Dutch were too busy trying to defend them.
Don't know if Bravo was the best goalkeeper in the tournament or not but he is the smartest one I've seen so far.
I like how he distributed the ball by using the entire width of the field in restarting the offense instead of just kicking the ball to the other half of the field for a long pass and letting his teammates fight the defense for possession of the ball like most goalkeepers usually do.
He doesn't hold the ball for too long which prevents the entire opposing team from settling and preparing on defense, he may give you heart attacks when he drops the ball to the ground even with opponents still near him only to be calmed down when he passes it to a teammate on the weak side with no opponents anywhere near the receiving teammate.

Oleeee ole ole oleeeee VAMOSSSS HOLANDA!
Mon Jun 30, 2014 8:11 am
If Greece wins against Costa Rica I want Netherlands to raep them so hard in the quarterifnals.
I'm still pissed at that shite penalty called against Ivory Coast that gave Greece the win and advanced them past the group stage.
Mon Jun 30, 2014 9:17 am
That fucking Gekas. The whole game he just kept missing easy shots and fumbling easier passes. Would've been a much easier match up than Costa Rica. Not to mention that hair...sorry Leftos!
I'll go with 2-0 this time.
