hey guys been playing this for a while. i do hate that tag teams dont get announce as a team. i only found 1 so far if you have go to create a stable and edit nitro and melina and add mercury into the group. go and play a tag match with one tag team W/manager and select all 3 the announcer will called them MNM and they will do there full entrance.
weird how they didnt have this already setup cause i think MNM is the default smackdown tag champs when i did this they came out with the tag teams belts.
ive been messing around with stables outside of the game modes so they will fit what im doing in GM mode. 8-)

Also can anyone tell me how to knock an opponent out of a ring in Royal Rumble fight ?

Running at an opponent standing near the ropes and performing an Irish whip should send them to the apron, where you can trigger the elimination mini-game.

I wrote:Season Mode's pretty entertaining though the same problems of generic character dialogue and actions do spoil it a little of course. Loading times are annoying as usual but not really any worse than last year. Seems the Legends storyline always begins Season Mode too, which I'm not a huge fan of.

To follow up on this, one letdown about Season Mode this year is that every angle involves a very predictable double-cross heel turn, meaning that while each angle has its own unique dialogue and cutscenes there's a distinct pattern to the way the story unfolds; moreso than the past couple of years, in my opinion. I guess that's somewhat realistic as it does happen in wrestling and if you're a longtime fan of the real product you can often see it coming without even reading spoilers, but all the same the concept is a bit overused.

I haven't played SDvsR2007 yet, since my favorite PS2 rental shop is now closed. Uhh, is this the same as last year's "Mash-the-Button-to-Eliminate-Opponent" meter?

yes its the same but in my opinion its way worse this year guys get thrown out left and right very quickly. the only good part about it you can finish a rumble in record times now.

Agreed, it's good that it speeds up the process but it can make things very frustrating if you happen to get sent to the apron.

Will this mode be as realistic as the other game modes? I mean, the Royal Rumble should look like a rumble. I believe this mode only allows 6 superstars in the ring, wait for someone to get his ass out of the ring before another superstar enters.

Sat Jan 06, 2007 11:30 am

Well, it's not entirely realistic in that the Rumble often sees more than six wrestlers in the ring at any one time but personally the six player limit doesn't bother me that much. Given the method of eliminating opponents, you need room to work with.

well I recently downloaded the demo off XBL and well...I don't really see the big deal. Gotta say i didnt enjoy playing the demo at all.

Should I try the PS2 version? or am I crazy still playing Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy

Mon Jan 08, 2007 11:06 am

I went from No Mercy (N64 and emulated on my PC) to 2007 just to see how wrestling games had progressed. I'll still never get sick of No Mercy, but SD vs. Raw blows it out of the water. The sheer number of match types is amazing, and almost every part of the environment can be manipulated.

Mon Jan 08, 2007 1:02 pm

Woah, that's big addition already.

Well, I wouldn't say you're crazy for playing those games since I'm a fan of pulling out old games for old systems every one in a while myself and those were great games, but I'd still say the games have come a long way, at least on the PS2. I can't comment on the 360 version, though. What didn't you like about it?

Tue Jan 09, 2007 1:10 am

eh just seemed kinda sluggish, i really didnt like the stamina feature or the reversals.

heh, i forgot to mention though I also own, Smackdown 2 (PS1), Shut your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain i think it is both for PS2.

I also got Fire Pro for my sisters GBA but I didnt like that one at all either.

But anyway it is a new day and Im lazy and havent deleted it yet so I think Ill give it another shot sometime today.

Tue Jan 09, 2007 9:26 am

Stamina is annoying at first particularly when you're used to the strategy of beating the crap out of opponents non-stop but it does add a bit more of a challenge. Reversals in SvR2007 are a bit annoying but there are gameplay sliders that are effective in doing something about that.

Tue Jan 09, 2007 6:52 pm

@Andrew:

The slider thing is kinda hard to figure out for live players, since we got used to the fact that they don't fix anything...

Thu Jan 11, 2007 4:06 pm

I kind of like the stamina as it prevents the CPU from abusing you on the ground for an hour at a time. It's so :furious: ing hard to get up once you've been knocked down. If you get thrown off the top of a cell, you may as well take a nap and maybe you'll be able to get up when you wake :) .

SvR2007 sliders don't do much either... at least Live gives users more options.

No Mercy is where it's at (Y) If you really want the latest spinoff of No Mercy, I'd say try Day of Reckoning 2. That game and No Mercy is still better than SvR2007 imo, in terms of wrestling in general.

Fri Jan 12, 2007 1:42 am

and also the current gen Def Jam games use the No Mercy engine. I dont know about the new game though.

I played a match against my friend and we overall just didnt like it. So I guess Im just going to have to stick with No Mercy and WrestleMania 2000.

Has anyone found any good sliders yet? I've looked all over the place but none of the SvR boards seem to care at all about them. There are about 10,000 CAW threads and none for sliders. I'm on 360 but it's probably the same for PS2.

Well, if the sliders actually did something, then people might care. But Smackdown 2007's sliders are so meaningless and barely noticeable to the point where, it's a waste of time to tinker and experiment with them. Trust me, I tried. Only thing to do is stick to what Yuke's is offering, since there's no other wrestling games on the market in NA.

Fri Jan 19, 2007 5:54 am

That's unfortunate. I'm growing tired of my strong grapples being reversed as soon as I move the stick to attempt a move, so I started bumping down that slider and it seemed to have no effect, as you suggested.

Well, he hasn't been in the WWE for more than a year now. ;)

Fri Feb 02, 2007 9:30 am

yay, i finally got my copy =D

i played the game a lot this week and i really like it so far (the last wrestling game i played No Mercy on my 64 xD )

but yeh... i still don't know one thing...

how do you get to the apron intentionally, so that your tag team partner can tap you in...
if i press the Y or A button (triangle or X on PS) the character only enters the ring instead of just climb up on the side....

i even tried this on the stairs.... without success :(

i hope somebody of you knows what to do
