Not all XBox games can be played on 360....only some of them....the more high profile ones like Halo 2 etc....haven't tried any myself, but that's what I understand it to be like....

Dang. Is there any way that I can upgrade the one I have now? I bought the one included with the hard drive.
well anyways, I'm thinking of getting a soccer title & this would seem to be the obvious choice, although I must question the licensing of this game first though....I've heard that the game doesn't have player licensing so real player names are not in there
....of course, it won't really matter for the big teams where I know the players, but if I want to play with a smaller team, I'll want to learn the 'real' players & their games....my question is if it doesn't have player licencing, would there be a roster update (like there is on PC) for XBox 360 via XBox Live, or is there not?!?

Any X360 with a hard-drive is one that has "backwards compatibility", no hard-drive means no place to store the profiles. Since you have the hard drive you have access to the profiles.
The X360 can only emulate old XBOX games, it doesn't have legacy hardware like the Playstation series of consoles does.

This is the list of games XBOX games guaranteed to work on the X360. If it's not on the list assume it does not work, even if it's possible it does, it's not supported.
Probably should take that 50 Cent game back and get "Barbie™ Horse Adventures™ Wild Horse Rescue™" as it works.
Also, you can't use any XBOX memory units, and you can't access the X360 one.

Nah that's wrong, 90% of the teams have real player names/looks, the only things that have been changed are team names/stadium names, but PES is expanding the number of licenses they get every year anyway. The only teams that don't have real player names are the ones that aren't in any playable leagues, like Porto, Boca etc but you can find the real player/fake player names online and it's quite easy to change it.....of course, it won't really matter for the big teams where I know the players, but if I want to play with a smaller team, I'll want to learn the 'real' players & their games....my question is if it doesn't have player licencing, would there be a roster update (like there is on PC) for XBox 360 via XBox Live, or is there not?!?
Well there is a large PES community that produces all sorts of updates, I don't know if there'd be any "official" ones available but you can check around here for answers http://pesfan.com/bulletin/index.php
