I'm pretty sure "nigger" is a racial slur because of the way it was used during slave days. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was a term used by blacks amongst themselves, and then the slave owners and overseers used it to mock and belittle the slaves which makes it a racial slur.

For me, it's just a word. In the wrong context, it can be dangerous, be it financially or physicall, but in most instances that I've used it, it fits the situation and doesn't hurt anyone's feelings, nor is it being racist (for instance, my black friend Stevie answers his phone when I call "sup, my nig?").

Many words in the English language are like that; for instance, "fuck" was a very common words among the peasants of England when the Normans were ruling. French was the language of the aristocracy, and English was deemed an inferior language. People strove to be a part of the elite, so they learned French and using such language showed a lack of class and status, and that's basically the reason our curse words are considered curse words. "Fuck" is a versatile word (adjective, adverb, noun, pronoun, etc.), but it is unacceptable because of a history of being socially taboo. Don't believe me? Google "fabliaux" and read some...you'll find it being used by clergy and commoners alike. I can't think of the name of the tale, but basically, this guy goes and bones a preacher's daughter and steals his goat, shaves his sheep, and then fucks the preacher's daughter again. It's pretty funny...think Chaucer's "The Miller's Tale."

Anyway... I probably just killed the post. Just like the good old days...

Actually a married my last secretary just recently so I now have a 24-hour secretary at my disposal...

I do have a laptop but no PDA, just can't get used to keeping all important data in a small box-thing that I can easily misplace...

I was looking at my photo collection just now and realized that I was always the guy holding the camera so I myself feature in very few of them. I counted just 11 pictures of me in my entire photo collection... Damn, i really should let other people take pictures , too...

There are some of me in the beach, the ones in Italy I mentioned before, some of me in a really embarrasingly orange colored suit, and a couple of me as a 16 -year old in a trip to a Greek island... I'll see if I can post any of them tomorrow...

Hey, 24 is just about the right age... Just don't get married yet unless you're absolutely certain...

As I already mentioned in the "blondie hottie" thread, you really should give it another year before popping the question. I was dating my current Yeti .... errr, wife ever since I was 20, and then we pursued working in the same office for the same firm. 4 years did the trick for us, and none of us was sure about the big decision up until mid-2004. So my advice is to take it slow...
