So I have a new 2TB hd that I'm trying to put into my desktop, i tried to format it to install windows but I may have ended up bricking it instead. The HD is being detected by Disk Management but I'm unable to initialize it, saying the request cannot be done due to an i/o error. I have search google for solutions and i'm now trying to see if a program will be able to fix or create a partition on it. shit

Depending on how old your motherboard is, you may need a bios update. What version of windows?

A Google search might shed some light.

Windows 7, i just replaced the motherboard not too long ago, i might need to check the name and brand though.

Google-fu is what i've been doing for the past two days or so. I have downloaded a partition program and it detects the drive showing unallocated and when i try to create a partition saying it is protected, and it is also being detected by my bios. I think when i try to install windows the first time and try to format it via the command prompt is what made it like that so its basically my fault.

Look on the manufacturers site for hard drive tools like a factory reset or something.

Passed my 2nd law exam today (the one that allows me to become a lawyer/attorney or judge in Germany).
I'm as brainfucked as I've never been before but I'm also as happy as anyone can imagine.
And I'm slightly drunken because my wife picked me up handing me over a bottle of 16 years old single malt scotch...

Congrats. :) How would you describe the amount of coursework leading up to your exams? Were you able to balance work/social life with coursework? I myself plan on going to law school after undergrad, and even though we're from different countries, the amount of coursework probably doesn't differ too much.

First of all, thank you guys!
To answer the question(s) above: During the last year of my universitary part of my law education, I spent about 6-8 hours per day in the library or writing test exams. I stopped even working for a legal institute to focus on learning. Looking at the results of my 1st law exam, it was worth the work.
Preparation for the 2nd exam was more difficult and slightly different as I had to balance work as a legal intern and learning. I still managed to take 3 months off to get ready for the written tests. During that time I was pretty exhausted and hardly managed to learn more than about 5 hours a day.
Social life was pretty much not existing in the final phases of preparation.
Nevertheless I had a very good time in law school for several years. After all it was a lot of fun and hard work. Social life didn't came that short I was still able to meet with a girl I finally married.

Went to see Jim Jeffries stand up comedy last night. I'm actually going to see him w/ Dave Chappelle in a few weeks, but he was pretty funny. He basically said the word "cunt" in almost every sentence he said... The women in the group sitting next to us were not amused

I guess he's Australian but lives here now but yeah I feel so used to Australian accents now since half of the NLSC is Australian (and the other half Filipino)

Dave Chappelle sounds awesome. I just realized I never been to a stand up comedy before. Perhaps I will it a go sometime. Where you buy the tickets btw? Is craigslist risky for tickets?

Did you catch any of his live performances? His 2011 show in the Beacon Theatre is what made me a fan. The FX show is okay. It can get annoying sometimes but his live shows are usually more funny.

Currently into the second week of my American holiday before I start studying. I'm in Portland at the moment and it's a really beautiful city. After this I'm heading to Seattle and Honolulu (decided on Hawaii over Vegas). After that, I'll be back in Cali.

A family member found a purebred Dachshund(wiener dog) tied to a post at the bottom of our street with a water bowl. Very well kept dog and quite disciplined. We've been feeding him, but I swear he has a bottomless stomach because he hasn't used the bathroom since we got him.

He has taken me on two walks. For some reason I thought he might know the area with his determined jog in a certain direction, but then I realized that this is a dog, sniffing poop, etc. There was definite resistance when getting back home, with a bit of acceptance as well. Who knows?

Ok. Time to go on a little rant. I can somewhat understand some people having no choice but to desert their pets in such manner. And I actually believe it is better than taking them to a shelter where they will most likely be euthanized. But one thing I can't support is people buying a pet from store and kennel without knowing what they're getting into or how they are adding to the cause of animal cruelty. Raising a pet is no joke. It takes tons and tons of effort and love. Problem is too many people realize it too late. There are already too many pets in needs of loving home and every minute, there are thousand of dogs/cats being put down because stupid wannabee-pet owners support breeders unconsciously. Don't BUY. You're only adding to already a serious problem. But adapt and rescue. Give them animals a chance FFS.

Try not to cry watching these clips, you bastards.

Good thing you and your family did, saving a life. Couple tips for you as coincidently I have a purebreed wiener myself. Just like yours, she likes to eat and eat. But be careful. Daschs are known to have back problems later in their lives and weight problem can add to the cause. Oh, I also heard running up and down stairs too much isn't good for their back either. Avoid that as an exercise. And funnily, my dog does the same and likes sniffing around too much. I just take her to the park and let her free roam instead. And usually I drive to there. LoL. Otherwise for shedding problem, daschunds are really nice pet to have imo especially for lazy people like myself.

I think she's doing better. At least I'd like to think so.

I have no doubt in my mind that home cooked meals are definitely healthier. Think about it. Commercial dog food lasts forever. What unnatural preservatives were added to keep them from rotting. I still feed her commercial dog food time to time, like for about 1 out of 5 meals. Mostly because it takes effort to feed her only homecooked. You have to cook 2-3 weeks amount and then freeze, defreeze stuff.
