WWE Championship Match
John Cena vs. Randy Orton
It looked like it would be Orton but then he beat down Cena at SNME and got the upper hand again on RAW, which is usually an indication that he'll be doing the job at the PPV. I pick Cena to retain, though Orton's probably going to get the belt at some point.

He now is better than anyone in RAW, maybe Bobby Lashly can take him down!

How is that approach different from the marketing strategy the WWF/WWE has been employing for more than 20 years? They did the same thing with Hogan back in the 80s and it worked very well. Whether smarks like it or not, the fact remains that kids are a big part of the WWE's target audience.
As I've said before, I'm not a Cena fan but I do think it's become fashionable to hate him to the point where smarks won't give him an inch because that's the cool thing to do. It should be noted he was getting pretty good reactions when he first won the belt in 2005, it was only after the monster push began that fans started to really turn on him. Had the booking been better, I reckon there wouldn't be nearly as much Cena hatred. Less talented workers have held major championships; in Khali, one is holding one right now.
If I'm Vince McMahon and I'm deciding who to have represent my company as the champion, I'd pick the guy who appeals to a large part of the target audience (kids), sells tickets and merchandise and conducts himself like a professional rather than the guy who causes $30,000 worth of damage to a hotel room, has been suspended multiple times and whose backstage attitude and behaviour seems to rival his on-screen character. Unfortunately that has resulted in questionable booking decisions and in terms of wider fan response, hasn't worked out the way the WWE probably would have liked.

He was 1st wrestler in WWE of that style, he had a huge talent to act, but his wrestling definlety sucked. How wrestler appears in the ring is the most important aspect for meHogan is the most overrated WWE wrestler in history
The Debilash™ wrote:Well, actually I've started to hate Cena when he won his first U.S. title against the Big Show. So don't say it about everyone (!)
The Debilash™ wrote:I really don't care off Orton's activity outside the WWE. The most important thing for me that he's a good wrestler, he has a talent to wrestle. Off-course, Orton is not the best in WWE, but as an athlet he's 3 trilions times better than Cena. So I was supporting Orton during his match at SummerSlam with all my heart, because I'm so tired of Cena. As I've said, I used to hate him when he was in SmackDown. But I never hated him so much as I hate him now

Or Orton who lost Cena.
Maybe Lashly who lost too.
Great Khali?
Who is your favourite? And why you dont like Cena?

I understand that, I just hate to see people who are so poorly behaved get pushes. But my point is that the WWE probably puts more trust in someone who isn't as likely to garner negative publicity.
