Actually, I'm not all that keen on Orton winning. I know, there's plenty of good reasons for Cena to drop the belt and drop it to Orton but there's something about Orton getting a title run that just doesn't seem right. Say what you will about Cena, but he carries himself well and behaves like a professional. The same can't be said of Orton, who probably wouldn't be getting this push (and would probably be deep in the doghouse) if the WWE wasn't ravaged by injuries at the moment.
Anyway, Summerslam is upon us so it's prediction time.
WWE Championship Match
John Cena vs. Randy Orton
It looked like it would be Orton but then he beat down Cena at SNME and got the upper hand again on RAW, which is usually an indication that he'll be doing the job at the PPV. I pick Cena to retain, though Orton's probably going to get the belt at some point.
King of Kings Match
Triple H vs. King Booker
Triple H, since it's his triumphant return. Enough said.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
The Great Khali vs. Batista
The fact that Batista beat down Khali on Smackdown makes me think that's Khali's horrid reign as a major champion in the company could go on, but supposedly Batista is winning the belt back. I hope so, because the longer Khali is champion the more unwatchable Smackdown becomes. Just an awful decision, even with the brand suffering from injury.
Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero
Like Triple H, Rey is the returning face seeking revenge on Chavo. Perhaps Chavo picks up the win to further the feud but I think he'll be doing the job.
ECW Championship Match
John Morrison vs. CM Punk
CM Punk will probably win the ECW title at some point but I don't think it's going to be at Summerslam. John Morrison will likely retain and the feud will continue.
Triple Threat Intercontinental Championship Match
Umaga vs. Carlito vs. Mr. Kennedy
With Kennedy likely to be getting a big push as part of the McMahon's Long Lost Son angle, it wouldn't surprise me if he picked up the IC title to reinforce the idea of him being a winner (and therefore McMahon's son) owing to the fact he's got some gold around his waist. Umaga doesn't need the belt to get over and Carlito doesn't seem likely to get the push.
Kane vs. Finlay
I'll say Kane in a match that puts him over as a monster and involves some shenanigans from Hornswoggle.
Divas Battle Royal
Winner gets Women's Championship opportunity
It'll probably be a heel, most likely Melina or Jillian with Victoria having an outside chance.
