But he's almost invulnerable in almost a year now. So much for the push I think.

Okay, random WWE question: Who reigned the longest as WWE Champion?

Bruno Sammartino; seven years, eight months and one day. Combined with his second reign, he was the heavyweight champion for a total of 12 years.

If the 80s are far enough behind us to be considered old school (or at least the modern era of old school wrestling), an all-conquering face was quite successful back in the day. After all, Cena's push mirrors Hogan's minus the alleged politics yet it's widely disliked to say the least. Still, if Cena's character had remained a little more anti-hero and been booked to be a bit more vunerable his reign might have succeeded in terms of fan support, even amongst smarks.

I remember reading an article that talked about this change. Mainly because fans have grown smarter, and WWF back in the day was widely watched by families. The WWE's product nowadays with some Extreme Expose and random Diva skank shows don't really suit the family needs nowadays. That's what made Hogan really popular I guess, he was the real life super hero. One knock that I've always had on Cena is his damn finisher lol. The F-U looks like a setup move, nothing like a finisher. Maybe if he did a reverse F-U where he slams his opponent on his face and stomach, it might turn some opinions.

I'd like to see Cena hit the FU to his right and not to his left. Or finish a match with a roll-up or possum pin.

Oh dear god - WWE.com spoiled Smackdown again and it's the absolute most awful thing that could have happened. Don't go there if you don't want to know.

Since my curiosity got the best of me, I decided to check the site. My reaction? "Oh dear God". I'd rather see the belt on Hornswoogle.

EDIT: John Morrison? Johnny Nitro had a much better ring to it

Curiosity got the best of me as well. Might as well have had Vinnie Mac strut down the aisle and win the belt himself.

Oh, please. Did they run out of main-event level of Superstars who could hold the belt? Now I hope Kane wins it :|

I shouldn't have posted that, in retrospect...I was just really irritated because I went on wwe.com to look at the ECW preview and was greeted with THAT......ugh.

No harm done, it's up to all of us to exercise self-control when spoilers come out. ;)

In other news, the toxicology report has shown that there were no anabolic steroids in Chris Benoit's system suggesting that "roid rage" wasn't to blame. I expect that the "Vince McMahon is running a death factory" smear campaign will continue though.

He did have synthetic testosterone in him apparently, which seems to be considered a steroid, so the media can easily latch onto that  .

I'm sure they will, too. The WWE has handled the situation really well considering the circumstances, with the exception of a Benoit tribute show and even then it's not their fault since they put it together before it was revealed to be a murder-suicide. Still, since Benoit is no longer around to be blamed, it keeps the story going if responsibility is shifted to Vince McMahon and the WWE.

Come on...do you think Lashley would have made a better champion? No one can say that with a straight face.

The initial reaction would probably be good since a lot of people want to see Cena drop the belt but in time they'd hate Lashley's reign just as much, especially since he's pushed as being such a dominant force as well. In any event, both are preferable champions to The Great Khali, an indication of an injury depleted roster if ever there was one.

I would rather see Hornswoggle have the belt of Khali, at least Hornswoggle is entertaining compared to that large piece of shite.

I can't wait for HHH to return.

I didn't recognize you, shadowgrin. I like the old name.

Anyway, both RAW and SmackDown have champions that I wouldn't like to see holding the belt for a longer time.

If Hunter returns, I'd like to see him chase the title again and WIN it.

For God's sake, let Cena rest. :shake:

Well, if Triple H will return as a heel, I am very waiting vor this. But if he will back as a face, it will suck (N) Anyway, can't wait until RKO will steal a tittle from Cuck Fena

I also believe that Hunter will be out for Orton and not Cena. They might come out with a storyline of HHH having revenge on Orton after the New Year's Revolution.

Yeah, it would be very nice to see again the feud: heel Triple H vs. face Cuck Fena :)

That wouldn't surprise me. Given he was a face before the injury and that returning wrestlers often get a face pop, it wouldn't surprise me if he feuded with Orton with Cena somewhere in the mix as well as is currently rumoured. Of course, with that story gathering steam they might decide to go in a different direction.

I happened to catch a bit of ECW the other day and have just one thought: Viscera's costume change was highly unnecessary.

I wholeheartedly agree - that may be so irrefutable that it's a fact instead of an opinion. :P

On a related note, I'm getting very tired of WWE squash matches ("Big Daddy V", Khali, Snitsky, Henry, Umaga).

Yeah, I agree, it's very stupid. Vince gets a huge push to Umaga and Great Khali. They are smashing their opponents, just because when stupid kid's favorite John Cena will beat them, he will look more unstopable. I hate Vinc, he don't look to wrestling - just to fucking money from kids when their favorite "wrestler" John Cena is a champ. It sucks!! Cuck Fena sucks to!!!
