by the time the stuff I actually want comes out the console is still going to be the same price, and I'll just be missing out of free PS+ games

I still have like 10 sealed PS3 titles(still piliing up! Sale addict!) to play, and I haven't touched a PS3 for a few weeks now. LoL. I'm pretty sure I will wait out a bit before jumping into next gen gaming.

Are you guys really gonna sell PS3 when you get ps4? I thinks it's a keeper, still useful as a nice extra 3D blu=ray player and for occasional gaming.

nah i wont sell mine, its gonna go to my kids. plus the ps4 really has nothing to offer me yet so i will mostly game on the 3 for awhile. the ps4 will not drop in price for a long time, they wont even consider it until the xbox at the very least matches the $400 sticker and even then i doubt they would drop it right away knowing microsoft wont drop to 400 then right away drop lower

my PS3 is going to the wife to be a dedicated Hulu Plus machine. I'm sure I'll steal it for GTA V Online though

that should work, but for that price you should be able to find a 500gig. I guess the only real issue are some of the 9.5mm tall HDDs not fitting properly, cause they are too big.

Can't do any external, SSD is supposedly limited in its benefits because PS3 is old yo

I'm going to try and get a taste for this digital generation by going digital day one with GTA V on PSN. Have any of you guys done that with a console? Can/do the servers get bogged down?
I have disc games digitally on the 360, but I never did one "day 1" like I'm planning to do with GTA.

Nope, I never tried it because PSN didn't really offer much price discount on digital download. What's your reason for this? Don't you prefer a hard copy? GTA V is going to be heavy, I mean real heavy. My buddy from Rockstar was telling me this is going to be the heaviest PS3 game ever. Might take awhile to DL completely. I personally wouldn't do it unless there's a distinctive price advantage.

Mainly for the probable load time improvement by not having to deal with that disc drive. I have an old fatty PS3.

Anyway, Walmart is starting their PS4/Xbone in-store preorders tomorrow. Going to try for it.

And yes, fun time at Walmart. Old guy in a scooter came up to me asking if I played video games, and whether or not this game in his hand needs to go online to play it (The Last of Us). I said it shouldn't, he talks about how his wife got a game that needed to go online to play and then he hits me with "You really learn a lot about yourself with these games, at least I did. I was in Vietnam and had a friendly accident. Dumb bastard stood up while I was shooting, got him right in the back of the head. It took me a long time to realize it wasn't my fault....it wasn't my fault, I know. These games helped me realize that. I like the zombie ones."

Anyway, worker showed up, very nice, gave all the information needed, got receipt, in out and done with the preorder in less than 2 minutes. Only one there, reality checked, and video gamez are minez.

seems i made up my mind as i went into gamestop today and paid for the ps4 in full. also finished paying on wwe2k14 so thats another one i am getting for sure now. makes me think though, game stop now has about 620 bucks from me for stuff thats not out yet.

Judging from the list of games that is going to be released from launch. There is only one exclusive title from Sony? Unless you count the games that are releasing from PSN.

i thought they had knack, killzone, drive club for day one. the launch window is when they really start to open up and i believe the launch window is considered first quarter 2014. i personally will not get any of the day one exclusives but some of the launch window ones look fun though
