Those two new episodes were pretty damn good. I wasn't a huge Futurama fan in the past, but this is classic shit.

Loved the nod to the Fry meme in the first episode.

I liked both episodes, a pretty good start to the new season. There were a couple of episodes in Season 6 that I thought weren't quite up to the standard of the original run or the straight to DVD movies, but if Season 7 gives us more episodes like this, I don't think I'll have too many complaints.

The third episode ("Election 2012") was great. Political and election satire runs the risk of beating a dead horse, preaching to the choir and trotting out the same old tired jokes, but the sci-fi twist really made the episode and the somewhat
deus ex machina-fuelled return to the status quo actually worked, being clever and funny. The Obama and Terminator references were woven in well, plus we got another Hypnotoad appearance to boot. Really liked that one.

The newer episode with Bender being a paparrazi was pretty good too. Solid start to the season.
"I'm a celebrity, I can kill anyone I want"

Agreed, another very enjoyable episode. One of the funniest "All My Circuits" they've done too, with its over the top cheesiness.

I just hope Calculon comes back, even though he is supposed to be dead. Calculon has always been one of my favorites. "I'm here with my TV family!"
Thu Jul 12, 2012 11:29 am
Me too. I'm guessing they will bring him back though, I'd say he's too popular a character and too useful for TV/movie/entertainment industry jokes to be written out permanently.

"Kif, I'm bored. What say you go out on the wing and pretend you're a gremlin?"

Another good one, kind of a predictable return to the status quo at the end but that's fine by me, it didn't take anything away from the episode.

Had a short Fry-Leela relationship moment though.
Sat Jul 14, 2012 11:42 pm
Indeed, good to see they're not brushing it aside completely.
Sun Jul 15, 2012 9:23 am
yeah im glad they focused a lot on it last season (i think it was technically last season) but it's been pretty much ignored up until now. and amy hasn't had much screen time

I don't know, they've been kind of inconsistent with it since the revival. Not that it needs to be the focus of every episode but it's been ambiguous as to whether they are actually together or not.

Loved last week's episode, Season 7 continues to be very strong. Pretty damn funny from start to finish.

I thought last night's episode was a little weaker, probably because Bender wasn't in it quite as much. Still pretty good overall though.

Nothing against Bender because he's still as hilarious as ever, but I didn't really notice or miss him having a big presence to be honest. The jokes were snappy and the plot was pretty good; once Zoidberg started "re-assembling" Hermes it was kind of obvious how they were going to return to the status quo but it was still well done. Nice use of Roberto, too. I'm guessing he's been written out at this point, so just in case, let's remember the good times...

RIP Roberto.
Latest episode was okay.
Wasn't aware Fry and Leela were going out. Really escalated the relationship between the two
Fri Aug 03, 2012 10:43 am
They don't always focus on it, which is fine and probably for the best as not every story and joke needs to be about it, but like I said before I do like that they're acknowledging it more consistently.

escape pod gag was amazing
whole episode was amazing
"those men are just for ballast!"

Oh god this show has another season? I thought last season was the last season! I'm glad I decided to check this thread out lol

Every season is the last season. Until there's another.
It's in the KOTH limbo.

The run of great episodes continues, still really loving this season.
Fun on a BunGreat Fry and Leela episode, a good way to move things forward with their relationship. They obviously can't do as much fish out of water stuff with Fry these days as they spent a lot of the earlier episodes introducing him to the future world and making jokes contrasting it with our "primitive time" (like the X-Mas stuff), but they pulled it off here. Hilarious stuff from Zapp, as always. "In recognition of your overwhelming victory, let's call it a draw!" Bender's plot was fun, too.
Free Will HuntingVery strong Bender episode, kind of a deep and thoughtful concept but handled in very funny and wacky manner. Enjoyed the fakeout with Bender shooting the professor ("Oops, safety was on!"), his immediate abandoning of the Order of the Binary Singularity (even though you could see it coming, still classic Bender) and the return to the Robot Homeworld ("Silence!").
Also, I think Hedonismbot's line - "Simply vomit on me ever so gently, while I humiliate a pheasant" - is probably the most hilarious line that character has ever uttered.
Near-Death WishAs with the Robot Homeworld, good to see them revisit another element of the Futurama universe with the Near-Death Star. I thought the Matrix swipe was a bit laboured, but not quite to the level of Family Guy and it certainly worked to set up the escape scene. The fan disservice with the professor was disturbing as always, but still hilarious. The ending was actually quite touching, though I liked Bender's awkward reference to the professor's brother (who was obviously turned away unceremoniously) to cut through the treacle. Great stuff.

Solid Zoidberg episode, the chart room gags were definitely a highlight. Liked the handmade intro, too.

Last two episodes were pretty good. Season finale next week.
Short season

At least there are more episodes in the can after that, but it'd be nice to get a full, uninterrupted run.
