If media player shows that the end of the world will happen right at that moment, would you believe it or take it seriously even for a little bit?
C'mon Laxative you're smarter than what media player shows you.
You can simply categorize it but just saying its genre is emo (of course I'm referring to the current classification of emo, and not the original type of emo music) and not put the words rock or punk alongside it.

It doesnt sound like emo music.
Sat Oct 27, 2007 11:08 pm
Then don't put the word "emo" when categorizing it.

If you really care about this shadow, then go out and picket against the gratuitous use of the word emo when describing music. Im really not in the mood for some dick preaching to me about the rules of classifying music.
I downloaded Cexcells and that was a great CD, does anyone know of any other bands like this?

I'll just stay at home thank you.

There are four extra tracks ("Girls and Boys", "Mute", "Black Electric" and "If Only") available. There are also remixes of "Stiff Kittens" from the single.
You could look into AFI's Decemberunderground as,
In the August 2006 edition of Guitar World, Puget states that AFI songs "37mm" and "Love Like Winter" were both originally intended as part of the Blaqk Audio side-project.
I offered Shiny Toy Guns to Jae as similar, and he seemed to approve. I think there was one more I thought of, but I cannot remember them now.

Yeah I've got Shiny Toy Gun's CD, and I rekon thats pretty awesome.
They (Blaqk) remind me a lot of some New Order stuff...
Ill check out the other stuff you mentioned.

This blindsided me, because I completely forgot about it. The only real legit threat to CexCells this year probably, even with so many demo tracks on the CD:
Epic large wikipedia image.

The AFI cd is madcore wicked! Does all of their stuff sound the same as this CD? I always thought them to be shit, I guess I should have listened to them first...

You were right.

Most of the AFI albums after Black Skies in Sunset. Jade Puget (the other half of Blaqk Audio) brought the changes in their style from the punk. He's credited with the "goth/synth/Cure/etc.", whatever you want to call them, additions. Plus, Davey spends more and more time singing.
Sing the Sorrow is definately the closest to Decemberunderground however.

Okay, this is an old topic, but its still towards the top of Entertainment Talk and its a good one, so...
Ty-Land, Your recommendation of "Definitely Maybe" was great. I've been listening to almost nothing but that and (whats the story?) Morning Glory all week.

Greatest. Instrumentals. Ever.
Joe Satriani's a fucking genius. I never thought I would've loved a song without lyrics as much as I love "The Crush of Love". It's like his guitar's speaking.
If you're into instrumental rock or you simply appreciate great instrumentals, get this album.

Well i finally listened to Yellowcard's newest album Paper Walls. I must say that I liked it. Much better than Lights and Sounds, though not better than Ocean Avenue. Fighting has to be my favorite song from the album...

That cover looks freakishly nice.

It is much better than 2006's was, at least in my opinion. Some of the tracks at the end are fantastic.

I didn't like these songs when I heard them, but when Olivia Thai sang it, it was amazing.

Jacko is back-o!
Eeeeeeh heeeeee!
Fergie sucks monkey balls though

I don't see Michael Jackson anywhere in that pic.
All I see different is a black dude.
Jacko must be somewhere with those pale creatures.

Queens of the Stone Age - R
Seriously one of the best albums I've ever heard in my life. For one reason or another, I never really pursued QotSA besides listening to some of my favorites off of Songs for the Deaf. I've now pretty much listened to their complete discography and it is simply great stuff that I reccomend to any Rock/Metal fans out there.
I also reccomend:
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Kudos to TheMC5 on reccomending them to me. Great to listen to if you like your metal with a groove to it.
