Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I wanted to ask if we get a say or get a look at how the new site/forum will look like?

Most recent example. I'm not going to trace back all of his posts for other examples but I believe that there were actually quite a few posts you could call spam.

Even in retirement, Jae makes a fantastic post.

As it happens that smiley is my least favourite because it does have a certain arrogance about it, especially when it's misused.

Suggestions are always welcome but we do have some talented individuals to work on such things so I'm confident that when the time comes to update the design a majority of people will be very pleased with the results.

Oh, I wasn't doubting anyone of your crew's capabilities but just wanted to know if we will get maybe a sneak peek or a choice between different designs! Thanks a lot!

If and when we adopt a new design or colour scheme I'd personally prefer to leave it as a surprise. But we'll see.
Wed Nov 01, 2006 10:11 pm
A surprise is good! I was just only merely asking you know.

I didn't know this thread got moved. Anyways, I think many people misinterpred the remark about NLSC being dead. It's not that his community, these forums are dead. They survived, but its foundation - NBA Live - didn't. We can't build a community around a game the community doesn't like. That is why I believe NLSC is dead - it's not a NBA Live series community anymore, it's just a community of guys who like NBA, like NBA games and I'm convinced that's the direction NLSC should go towards to.

That seems to be a bit of a contradiction there.
I can't say I agree with your assessment of the situation; I don't believe the NLSC to be "dead" in any way, shape or form. That's not to say improvements can't be made but to say it's "dead" is still somewhat an overreaction. Has it been tough to lose two great members? Certainly. Has it been a slow period with an uneventful offseason and disappointment surrounding NBA Live 07? Yes, I'd agree with that. But "dead"? No, I don't think so.
Thu Nov 02, 2006 12:59 am
For being dead, certainly seems like business as usual on this end, at least.
Thu Nov 02, 2006 2:12 am

. I wanted to say NLSC as an idea is dead and we need to change that particular idea (us being Live fanboys) with the one more suitable for the times to come. But then again, you guys have been around for a much longer period of time and know better what it needs to be changed for this place not to stagnate.

I'm all for getting rid of the

,

, and

emoticons. I feel like whenever I see them, it's an annoying post anyway. What I'd like to see is an emoticon that's sort of thinking, similar to this one:
One you can put after asking a question, instead of this one:
Also, the devil horned ones I find are only used after terms like, "This is ridiculous!" and "FUCK EA!!!"

I like the smiling evil one, shows someone is being sadistic.

The

serves its purpose, as long as it's being used properly. The

doesn't really seem to have much of a purpose, imo, and one smiley I really would like to see is the heart or "I love you" smiley

Oh wow, I made one post that was spam and now im a spammer? I try and contirbute to all the posts that I got. Most of my younger posts came from replying to other people's dynasty stories and telling them good job, and what I liked about them. I don't see how any of my other posts, other than that recent one are spam.

I don't really think the idea is dead either. Expanding upon the previous concept is a possibility to be considered but abandoning it doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Hahaha. Before I registered here and used to check out a few of the other forums here (instead of just the patching ones) I do recall a guy called DWeaver, and he thought he was like a lawyer or something (plus a few more proffessions), I may be getting the wrong guy, but thats what I remember.

He is a lawyer.
Are you serious?

I think maybe another laughing smiley would be cool, but one that's more of a chuckle, not a huge laugh. I'd also like to drop the

smiley. It is used effectively sometimes, but mostly it's just annoying. And I think something should be done about this one

, because it's overused by stupid n00bs.

Yep. He's a smart guy. I liked having him around the boards, but things didn't go well with the other mods.

People are such noobs. People need to take up NLSC History instead of Geography in schools.
