Hey gordan, would you rather sign Juan Pierre to replace 33, or really make a push to keep Paulie?
Personally, the idea of having Pierre is pretty attractive idea, but we would definitley lose even more power in our lineup.
On the other hand, if we signed Pierre, that allows Tadahito to move to the 3rd spot, where he hit in Japan, and his homerun numbers would definitley go up, alot.
i heard pierre isn't that good of a center fielder. but going off of kenny's williams style of liking to bring in experienced players, i could see him going for him if they don't get paulie. i think that's why he issued the deadline to konerko and his agent to get something done by dec.8(?).
kenny knows very well if the contract negotiations are strung out past the winter meetings for konerko, he'll miss out on acquiring someone like pierre (should konerko not resign)
ozzie did say at the end of the year he'd like to drop iguchi down the order to take advantage of his power #'s. so this adds more speculation of the sox adding pierre as the #2 guy in the lineup
imo i'd like to see brian anderson get the shot at CF. he's supposed to be a 5 tool player and even a better outfielder then rowand. they also have another great prospect who plays OF, chris young. he's more of speedster then anderson.
assuming paulie resigns- i think it would be:
3- konerko
4- thome
5- dye
if you didn't catch the commericals, comcast will be replaying all of the sox playoff games
