So you would you prefer: "It is my first day with a piece of software released today, I don't know if it is better than other things."

IM glad you posted that benji

Heh. It is Google Chrome if anyone cares what the UI looks like.
Also, there is a status bar, but it only appears when you mouse over something or something is loading.
And yeah, I use Graphite. What of it? Wanna fight or something? (Actually, I couldn't pick the theme and just gave up.)

I tried it, some new featrues are cool, but I'm not high on it. It doesn't allow you to "click" the middle mouse button, and I'm kind of used to being able to visit my favourites with one click (Google Toolbar), and not have to open a new tab to see my most visited sites.
Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch between tabs? Alt -> Tab only works between windows.
Wed Sep 03, 2008 4:58 pm
Like in pretty much everything with tabs: Ctrl+Tab.
Oh, and if you want to know about the browser, read the comic:

This is a perfectly valid topic and you guys just jumped on him.
Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:32 pm
I didn't (unless he's kobe16) and have zero problem with the topic. I have nothing to do with Lamrock's antics.
What I posted is completely irrelevant to the validity of the topic. I was just pointing out (from Chrome) that it's everyones first day (as it had just come out) and that kobe16 added some really interesting commentary. Bowdown took it personally for some reason, I elaborated so my point was clear. He took it even more personally and told me to suck a cock. But I have no problem with a hefty ban for my original "troll" of a post.

I didn't know that this just came out, so I'm glad he posted it.

In a similar vein, has anyone tried IE8 Beta yet?
Thu Sep 04, 2008 12:01 am
I haven't tried it yet, but I recently (finally) switched to Firefox and I'm quite satisfied with it so far. I might give Chrome a try though.

Im enjoying chrome a lot, using here at work and at home. I wish i could just start typing to search like in Firefox but oh well, I'll deal for now.
Can't wait to try Incognito Mode when I get some from work

Giggity

Actually, it's more for buying a surprise gift for your significant other *coughs*
Tried Chrome on my parents' computer and I'm loving it. I love how fast and simple the browser is. I suggest reading the comic benji posted. It talks a lot about the browser under the hood, which could push for better development standards.
Edit: For a beta release, it's doing quite well.

Some security and other random issues have already been identified though:
http://www.clubic.com/actualite-159696- ... illes.html
Just an example, it's in French, but it says that the tabs, which should be completely separate and independent of each other according to Google, can all be very easily blocked if entering an address that contains a special character and such.
Other issues are regarding the actual contract that you gotta accept to install it, it features some parts that are potentially quite controversial, since they mentioned the possibility of what pretty much is privacy intrusions...

Did you even read the post above yours? (Or the thread for that matter.) I had and continue to have
zero problem with the thread. Despite what everyone seems to think
I am not Lamrock.
Jaesus Christ, you make one mocking remark about a completely different person's brilliant commentary, suddenly you're "jumping on" and "having a problem with" bowdown's thread and firing up the "goon squad."
I haven't tried it yet, but I recently (finally) switched to Firefox
From IE?
I love how stupidly fast Chrome is with Google sites (Gmail, YouTube, etc.) it's like they know something the rest don't know.

Bowdown makes one post that isn't terrible, and suddenly I'm in the wrong for wishing him banned after 2 bad posts in this thread and the 158/159 posts that are absolute spam or trash. The thread is fine. His posts, not so much.
Sorry for my antics.

Indeed. I never really had any issue with IE, so it really was out of curiosity, I kept seeing it featured in some good websites' "most recommended softwares" lists and such... It's pretty good so far, I see that it has tons of add-ons and stuff you can download to customize it, that's a nice touch.
