So anyway, for the past five days I've been at the NSCAA National Soccer Coaches Convention in Indianapolis, IN. Now, one of the sessions I sat in on was run by a man who trains U15 and U17s, and had trained 5 of the 2006 World Cup Austrailian soccer players, and a handful of players before that. At any rate, his session was on advanced zone defending and was excellent, so I approached him after the 90 minutes were up to ask him a few questions and so on...
Anyway, he was a very nice gentleman, and we realized we were both staying at the Westin Hotel, and he asked me and the rest of my staff that was there with me to meet him and some of his buddies at the hotel bar for a few drinks later...
Here's where the stereotype comes in... now, I like to think that I can drink like a champion. I went to the #1 party school in the entire United States 2 of my 4 years, and did and still do on occasion drink like a fish... but when I tell you that these four men could drink me, my friends, and probably everyone else I've ever met under the table with ease would be understatement of the year. These guys just fuckin' slammed Guinness after Guinness. We were supposed to have the last round on three separate occasions, only to order up another one (See: they did, not me), totaling over a dozen in total in just a few hours. I was pretty set, but these guys were just going up to their rooms and were primed to head out and start "really drinking." Holy shit! It was the only night I passed out early in my room and wasn't able to get out until 3 - 4 in the morning.
So anyway, I now assume that all Austrailians can drink like beasts, and more power to you for doing so.
