Yeah I agree...

Especially that he's going to be hanged, he wanted to be shot by a gun, but I think that hanging is a more proper way for such a murder...

Even the death sentence can be too easy one some people but well, anything less than this would have been wrong when looking back at the things that guy did.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 1:18 am

let's just say there's still more cases he has to go through, i won't be surprised if he will have double or tripple life.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 1:29 am

I have a feeling there are going to be some people saying that hanging is too brutal way to go for the death sentence.

I say we get Stone Cold Steve Austin (first person to come to mind) or someone to curb stomp him to death.

If it was the United States executing him I would be opposed. However since it is the Iraqi's, even with my death penalty opposition, I'll look the other way.

His crimes: Genocide on his own territory, draining the marshes, using chemical and biological weapons, fostering and supporting terrorism, possessing chemical, biological, and (thanks to the NYT frontpage story recently there is no denying) nuclear weapons programs, invading two neighboring states, burning the Kuwaiti old fields, dominated 10% of the world's energy reserves and used it to foster the history's biggest scandal, murdered his critics and members of his own goverment.

And yet there are those who justify Saddam, wish him back in power, and openly support and work for him (Ramsay Clark) that have a significant following around the world.

Of course the MSM has already started with questioning the timing of the verdict (even though it was announced a long time ago when it would come down) and whether Bush had anything to do with it. (I assume they mean other than removing Saddam from power and establishing a system in which he could actually be tried.) And our good friends like Harry Reid are out there claiming Saddam's conviction is a reason to vote for his fellows because unlike their opponents they don't have a plan. (Or one they wish to talk about.)

But more important than all of this Doogie Howser is gay...

i saw it in the news, some people were happy, some were sad, i really don't care :?

I'm just glad theres no more threat of him gaining power again and blowing the fuck out of us

.

Yep ur right for me beinging Romanian. Romanians are saying thats to brutal I say its not for all the things he's not dosnt matter which way he gets killed either way or anthor he's still screwd so might as well kill in anyway.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 5:47 am

Good...someone who killed hundreds (maybe thousands of Kurds) and was notorious for killing random people just because he felt like it will finally see death.

To go off topic , someone above voiced opposition to the death penalty. I would support the death penalty for any murderer. If you kill someone , and are convicted for murder , you die (with few exceptions i.e. if I get hit while walking on the street and I kill someone in self-defense , obviously I shouldn't get the death penalty , but if Person A runs into Person B's house and kills everyone then he should clearly get the death penalty)

Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:05 am

If things only were that simple...

I don't support the death sentence in any form. Maybe in obvious massmurdering cases but an eye for an eye is stone aged.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:20 am

I'm pretty neutral on the whole death penalty thing.

Still I think in this case its the right thing .Saddam was the guy that everybody feared and he killed many innocent people, which in my opinion is the single most important thing in his penalty.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:28 am

Death is the easy way out, let him live out his life in a small cell getting nothing but water and bread and 5 minutes of sunshine every three weeks.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:29 am

Ouch. Hanging is definitely a humiliating way to die. Look at what happened to Mussolini. Saddam's going to appeal, so it might not be for a little while, depending. If he does get hanged, I'm sure there's going to be pictures all over the internet or maybe a clip on YouTube.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:50 am

He's going to kill himself, rather then alowing his own people to hang him.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 7:12 am

there really wasnt anything else they could do but kill him i guess

Mon Nov 06, 2006 7:46 am

yikes. i go to a tournament and something to this magnitude happens... I guess he deserves it from what he has done.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 8:02 am

I'd rather he be tortured than swiftly executed. Perhaps it would instill a little fear into some of the insurgents in Iraq.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 9:12 am

rot in hell you son of a bitch!

I totally agree with you. Dying will cause him only about an hour (maybe two) of suffering... Letting him live that way will cause him a lot more suffering, and that's what he deserves.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 12:35 pm

I do not understand any of you. Aren't you guys the same people who say it is bad for America to torture suspected (and in some cases proven) terrorists in anyway? That we should be moral? And now you guys want to stuff Saddam in a box with very little nutrients and sunlight for life? You guys are complaining that he won't suffer as much as he should because he will only "suffer for about an hour". In words of Tool, "fuckin' hypocrite!"

With that said...he deserves to die and it is great that the Iraqi's will finally get their revenge on him. It is important to note that this was a fair trial and it was run by the Iraqi's. This shouldn't cause any more anti-American rallies or hatred across the world because of the sentence, however I wouldn't put it past some people if they did.

It's about damn time he gets off the face of this planet. One down...

I never said "it was bad for America to torture terrorists". I'm not anti-America. Terrorists deserve to be tortured. The only thing I said is that I don't support the war in Iraq because it has gone too far (lots of civilians and innocent soldiers have died, I think it's time to get a cut and finish this war).
I think dying will not cause Saddam enough suffering for what he has done.
