Where do you work?

I have noticed that alot of people around here have jobs, and I was just wondering where you all worked, and what you like/dislike about the job. If you want to you can let us all know how much you make as well.

I live in rural Idaho and work on a grain farm. I drive combine, just not today since it rained yesterday. We usually work about 12-14 hours a day during the harvest. I like my job actually. I get in lots of hours and make decent money, plus I enjoy the work. I make $12/hr.

I'm still a student in high school, but I do some web designing online. I like it a lot.

i work as an Resident Assistant at my university, and I also work as a office worker at Chinese Business Update, where we publish magazines on the Chinese Automotive Industry

I work at Toys R Us and make $7.50/hr. The people are nice but sometimes the job sucks. Yesterday I was in charge of throwing away all the crap they had in the storeroom. I had to get stuff like shelves, fixtures and shit from the upstairs to the downstairs and into the dumpster. Very hot and very tiring.

I've had a few jobs over time... telesales, construction, admin (for a basketball association in NSW). The last job I had was working on a TV show, writing interviews/scoping locations/getting release forms signed etc. Though I've taken a year off from school/work (which is probably going to turn into 2 years ).

I work in an office and i file medical papers putting them on a comp. I make $5/hr. Im 14 so its min. wage.

Seeing as my working life hasnt been all that long I'll list all of them.

1st "real" job: Worked at a teleservice company (no I didnt call people nagging them all day) where I took orders and offered upsellls and such. Was a work from home job which I hated very much. I got orders for stuff like the Magic Bullet, Girls Gone Wild and even Health some Health Insurance stuff.

2nd: Assistant AV tech at my University. They offered some classes at a Movie Theatre right next door so I was one of the guys in charge of setting up projectors, speakers and all that crap. Pay was shit, like barely over 7$/hr and my supervisor had me doing every damn thing.

3rd: Preparator at an Art Museum. I actually liked this job as I started in the summer so I got my 40 hrs at 10$/hr. Basically did all things associated with Preparing a museum for upcoming exhibits. Build walls, paint, hang artwork etc etc. Met some really cool people. Its pretty cool but you get nervous hanging work considering that most were worth so many thousands of dollars.

4th: Well I will be starting this one next week or so. I'll be working at a Cancer Research Center with a desk job at 12$/hr/ 18$ overtime. I'll work mostly weekends and may be able to log crazy hours as I'll be in front of a PC most of the time so I wont get bored. Plus I picked up another major so I can study at the same time.


Thats all the "real" jobs I ever had, had a bunch of other random jobs not worth mentioning (like occasion party promoter).

I'm currently working at a grocery store. I get to do shopping cart returns, custodial services (NOT what I applied for ), run a register, and other random crap. I make $5.75/hr.

Wtf money for the poor? Loans? The government gives money to students and people without jobs, in exchange the students stay in school and the unemployed look for work. It's not like the USA's welfare system, it's designed in a way that allows people too make a decent living when they're out of work or at school. Plus I live at home so I don't pay bills.

Very interesting job Ryan. As for me i scan papers for my uncle (research work) and i get paid $7/hour. I make my own hours, and i can do it from home

Looks like a pretty nice job too Wisdom Kid, picking your hours is great, scanning is easy (if i assume what i think it is), and $7 per hour is all right too.

A movie theatre business outlet that sells overpriced KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut food.

It's a pretty easy job and a lot of my friends work there, the only problem is that fridays and saturdays are when the most people go to the movies (also meaning that it raises the probability of having a customer who needs to shut the fuck up and make up their mind on what to freaking order).

At this wholesale outlet that sells grocery. All I do is walk around, being busy trying to look busy, and I get paid $8.50/Hour. Only downside to the work is the $30 deducted off every paycheck due to Union dues... damn unions.

Well, it's not a real job but I've been working as a kind of Assistant Coach at the club where I play. I did it for two months (May-June), but next year I won't do it since my club is hiring a real assistant coach. It was Under-11 (sometimes Under-8 too) category (kids born in 1995-96-97) so all I had to do was train the kids when the coach wasn't able to come, help the coach with advice and reports about the kids, help the kids when they got hurt in a game/practice and prepair some excercises for the practice. I got paid 4€/hour and I'm fourteen so it was OK for me.
