NFL Playoff Thread

Wow what a crazy wild card weekend. Alot of experts were saying no road teams would win, and what happened? The road teams win 3 out of 4 and give us even more intrigue heading into the 2nd week.

My picks:
Rams @ Falcons: Falcons
Rams are a dangerous team, especially considering the game is in the dome, where the rams won their superbowl in 2000, but i have to go falcons in a close game. Vick is vick, and their defense gets them over the line.

Vikings @ Philly: Vikings
TO getting injured made philly vulnerable, and all this bad publicity around moss seems to make the vikings better. If owens was healthy, i'd go philly, but moss and culpepper might be too much for the eagles, even at home.

Indy @ New england: Indy
Peyton Manning is a machine. New England has a better offense than last year, but their defense isnt as good as the one that won them the super bowl. The colts offense vs the patriots defense, i have to say indy's offense.

Jets @ Steerlers: Steelers
Steelers D is crazy its so good. I like the jets, but i cant see them beating pittsburgh in pittsburgh. Steelers walk into the afc championship game.

I'm going with all of your picks except Philly. I don't know if they will actually win with TO out but I want them to make the SB. Damn, Moss vs. TO would have been fun to watch

Rams @ Falcons - The Falcons of course. The St. Louis linebackers are definitley not good enough to contain the Falcons amazing run offence, and their line is still questionable. They don't have a player to cover Crumpler. And the Rams should start turning the ball over soon.

Vikings @ Eagles - Vikings, they just came off a good win against a team that everyone thought would beat them. The Vikings secondary is good enough to remove the WR's from that game completely, and their speed should let them clamp down on Brian Westbrook....it should.

Colts @ Patriots - The Pats better win, I've had enough Peyton love for this lifetime and I want the media to shut up about him. Dillon should kill them, and that snow better go down in dumps.

Jets @ Steelers - C'mon, the Steelers is such an obvious pick here.

Philly beats St. Louis
Atlanta beats Minnesota at home easily, and Randy Moss leaves in the 4th
New England beats Indy(and Peyton Manning can go cry to daddy)
Pittsburgh destroys the Jets

-then-

Philly barely gets by Atlanta, mainly cuz their d will stop Vick
Pittsburgh beats New England because NE's secondary is too beat up and PIT's receivers are amazing

-then-

In overtime, Pittsburgh beats Philly on a rush by Roethlisberger as he wins the MVP.
Owens will play in the Superbowl, but is probably rusty but has a kickass game, but its not enough.

-then-

Next year my Houston Texans pwn the league.

Moss vs TO is always fun to watch, but no matter how good mcnabb is, the recievers still have to catch the ball. Just look at the seahawks, they have a great qb in hassellback, and the recievers just dropped the ball. Mcnabb is better than hasselback but its the same problem without TO. Philly's in trouble, and as colin pointed out, only Westbrook can bail them out.
Colts @ Patriots - The Pats better win, I've had enough Peyton love for this lifetime and I want the media to shut up about him. Dillon should kill them, and that snow better go down in dumps.

At least Peyton deserves this hype, instead of tom brady who would be NOTHING without his defense. It should be very interesting to see how the patriots try to defend this offense of the colts with the new rules and no ty law. I think the winner of this game is the favourite for the superbowl imho.

Hasselbeck certainly isn't a great QB, he's a slightly above average QB. Kind of like where Jamal Crawford would be at compared to other starting shooting guards. There's probably a better comparison but I can't think of one.

Thats a good comparison, but what my point was no matter how good a qb is throwing it, the recievers still need to make the catch for the chains to move. Thats what has killed philly in the years past, and with TO out, it could be dejavue all over again..

Abraham is a pnasy that won't play. He doesn't want to get hurt because he's a free agent in the offseason. Or so I've heard. He's had medical clearance before and been healthy and he sits out anyways. Chump...

#12, I agree with the falcons, but not patriots. Rothelsburger, while a rookie, isnt as bad as everyone is making out. Remember, before last week he was given more praise than any other QB not named Manning. The steelers have had homefeild and choked before, but I'm going with them. Should be another wild weekend.

If the Pats could shut down Peyton Manning, Roethlisberger is no challenge. Pats win by 20, at least.
Atlanta's defense is really good, but they haven't been challenged in a while. Philly's offense has exactly been challenged either. It will come down to McNabb vs Vick. This year, Vick wins out.

Superbowl: Falcons vs Pats
Result: Pats by 5

The pats shut down peyton manning, but the colts rely so heavily on that passing game, so it was like cutting the head off a snake. When they shut down Roethlisburger, it's more like cutting a hand off someone, they can still operate with their running game.

Remember, this steelers team is still smashmouth football. Their defense is the best in the nfl, and they run the ball 60% of the time. Stopping roethlisburger isnt the be all and end all to winning this game for new england.

New England is good enough to put the hammer down on Roethlisberger, then be able to still stop the Steelers run defence. Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson are BIG hitters and should be able to control the run game.

Pats by 3
The game ends with a final second Field Goal to win the game, thus another Championship :x

But lets go Falcons or Eagles!
