Haha, maybe so. But I was feeling 'Here I Stand' more than 'Year of the Gentleman'. Probably because I haven't heard any Usher at all in a while.

About the Common album. I think you cant make three conscious rap albums in a row. He just wanted to do something different. Im also more the conscious fan type and thus more pleased by his last two albums but maybe its good as it goes since another conscious album would have been hard to top the others.
Furthermore I think that Kanye's style hes showin off lately might not have fit with a Common LP. The Neptunes did a good - but not a excellent - job imo.

Some of Usher's songs on that album really really sucked and was nothing compared to Confessions. Vocally, Usher is far better than Ne-Yo but Ne-Yo's songwriting ability made his album shine if compared to Here I Stand. But hey, it's up to personal taste/preference really. You liked Here I Stand and I liked Year of the Gentleman.

Well the deciding factor for me was that Usher's one of my favorite artists of all time. I've been down with him since 'My Way'.

i feel like the new Common, Ne-Yo, and John Legend albums were disappointing to a lot of people (including myself) was becuase they decided to be good artists and switch it up from what they were doing before. the only problem is i really liked what they did before. Green Light is pretty sick thoguh.
Usher's album was only so-so. they could've done more with it but once people got sick of Love in THis Club, they all tuned out. Moving Mountains could've been a great 2nd single.
the new Game album was pretty sick. you could tell he tried to change it up a bit too, but most of it had the same west coast feel that i like so i think it turned out well. oh and The Dream's LoveHate album was sick too.

Trading Places could've been a great single as well. I'm surprised Moving Mountains didn't do so well. And yeah, Game's album was surprisingly better than I expected. Is this his last one? Or does he have one more before he's done for good?

Should've maybe? I thought it was realeased as a single but didn't get the airtime? And I thought Trading Places was a signle too... I mean, videos were made for both.
But yeah guys, Trey Songz is the prince of RnB... Usher's lost his way.

They are singles. They just didn't chart the same success as Love In This Club.

well i know they made a video for moving mountains but i think the hype machine they used on Yeah/Burn/Confessions from the last album could've been used in a similar way instead of letting his album fall off the face of the planet. i have heard trading places on local R&B stations though.

I can't remember how they hyped up his songs off Confessions but I think they tried to create some hype by leaking Love In This Club although Usher didn't want it.
