I've never watched it religiously like I do The Simpsons but I've had a casual interest in it since it first aired and have recently been getting into the repeats on Foxtel. Definitely an unceremonious end for a really good series.

It is epic fail.
They should've cancelled The Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad. And The Cleveland Show.
At least King of the Hill delivers every episode unlike the other three which can't even bat .100.

It's a real shame that Seth MacFarlane will have three shows that are all very similar and essentially do the same kind of jokes and King of the Hill ends up on the chopping block.

I used to love that show. I tried to watch a couple recent episodes and they were terrible though.
Honestly, it should have happened 5 years ago, and like Ben said, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show (Why does that shit exist?) should have gone the same way.

The hell, first the global economy and now this? Stupid crazy network execs.

Objectively wrong. Last season was one of the greatest King of the Hill, and greatest animated comedy, seasons ever.

I agree with Lamrock, I've never seen any KotH episode that was remotely funny or interesting. I guess I see too many rednecks around here already. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

See, that makes you a bigot. You'll be perfect in a KOTH episode.

Thanks for the heads up

That's the problem with those who are so objectively wrong.
King of the Hill isn't about "rednecks" and it isn't "redneck humor" like Jeff Foxworthy or Larry the Cable Guy. It's Mike Judge. It's the exact same humor as Idiocracy. It's about the best characters in animated television and often, like South Park, the absurdity of real life. (Which is why last season was so brilliant.)

Show never made me chuckle nor entertained me. Just served as a half hour block between Simpsons and Family Guy where I could play Rock Band or wack off.
Neutral on the situation.

I'm "objectively" wrong because I don't enjoy the show and whatever type of humor it features? Interesting...
It's about the best characters in animated television and often, like South Park, the absurdity of real life.
Except it's boring as hell. I don't see anything particularly intruiging with any of the characters either, and it's anything but funny. It's a not a matter of "getting it" or "not getting it". South Park does a phenomenal job at mixing aburdity and actual society-related issues, but I've never seen any of that in KOTH, it's really not as subtle as you make it sound.

Satire?
Except it's boring as hell. I don't see anything particularly intruiging with any of the characters either, and it's anything but funny.
Except you're still objectively wrong. It's engaging, the characters are tops in animation and it's a laugh riot.
but I've never seen any of that in KOTH
I can only assume you don't watch the show. Not subtle maybe, but neither is South Park subtle in its commentary. (Or does it do very much anymore.) Last season contained: protesting, gender roles, organic foods/co-ops, "diversity experts", class roles, animal spiritualism, trans fats bans, gentrification/"ethnic" worship, "parenting experts", athlete poaching, "Hooters"
This season has tackled: the "green" fad, local politics, and will do MySpace in the workplace.

Like Jao said, it's only because it's between two better shows on Sundays that I usually end up watching it, each time hoping that I can maybe find one single thing to laugh about. Still not happened so far.
And what's with that "objectively wrong" bullshit? I'm having trouble believing that you of all people would actually think that individual preferences towards a TV show can be considered objectively "right" or "wrong"...That doesn't even make sense. I just don't find anything remotely enjoyable about the show (animations, dialogs, stories...), and obviously not many people do since it's getting canned, I don't see what could be "universally" right or wrong about that...

This is objectively false and a outright blatant lie. It's between two objectively worse shows, that have been objectively worse for the last decade. And Simpsons and Family Guy are the shows that need to be scoured for the one single laugh a week. (And one fails, because they usually don't contain humor.) King of the Hill provides guaranteed laughs every episode past and present. That's what happens when you have developed characters and good writers.
Hank's being naive is objectively over 9000 times greater at being a comedy vehicle than Homer and Peter's mental handicaps.

Okay, I guess I'm a liar then...
I almost thought you were being sarcastic for a minute...Still don't see what objectivity has to do with anything here, but oh well...

I loved King of the Hill: its a shame to see it go. I wouldnt put it above some "classic era" simpsons but certainly above family guy and many of the other "failed" shows. The characters are people being people: bringing their own beliefs and skewed views of the world to their situation and usually resulting in humor due to naivete, stupidity, or just flat out weirdness. Few people have made me laugh as often as Mike Judge and I have to give him credit for it. I will admit that some of the jokes after years and years get old "look dales paranoid" "look bobbys gay and it worries hank" etc. but real people are like that. A trait of their personality doesnt just "disappear" its just much more noticeable on a tv show. Ah well. /salute to king of the hill.

Good news for diehard fans if that comes to fruition.

I agree with Benji in that King of the Hill is better and more humorous than Family Guy and The Simpsons. I haven't watched every episode but I still think it's still much better than every other animation series out there right now.
It doesn't surprise me FOX cancelled it. They've cancelled virtually everything that was worth watching (Arrested Development, Firefly, even the more recent Back to You,) yet they keep The Simpsons, which has been awfully unfunny for the past ten years and stuff like 'Til Death, which gets like two and a half million viewers a week and no critical approval whatsoever yet they don't seem to be able to kill it.

I wouldn't say The Simpsons has been awfully unfunny for the last ten years, they haven't been the best seasons in the show's history but the steepest decline has been the last four or five seasons in my opinion. At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, I think The Simpsons deserves to end of its own accord but having said that the series is kind of on its last legs.

"King of the Hill" has found a new home on cable.
Adult Swim has snapped up exclusive cable rerun rights to the animated series, which recently was canceled by Fox after 13 seasons. Although ABC has expressed interest in reviving the show, Adult Swim said it has no plans to order new episodes of the series from producer 20th Century Fox TV.
However, it's worth noting that the late-night network played a part in bringing animated series "Family Guy" back to life on Fox after the network canceled it -- for a second time -- in 2002. Based on solid performances for repeats on Adult Swim as well as strong DVD sales, Fox was encouraged enough to resurrect the series in 2005.
Adult Swim, the late-night sibling of Cartoon Network, also said that it will be expanding its programming by an hour starting in January. The network currently airs from 11 p.m.-6 a.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 p.m.-6 a.m. Sunday but will begin broadcasting at 10 p.m. seven days a week.
To kick off the new hour, "King" will air at 10 p.m. nightly starting in January. Adult Swim's multiyear deal includes all episodes of the series.
FX currently airs "King" repeats, but its deal with distributor Twentieth TV ends in December.

Personally, I think its chances of a full revival are a bit iffy now but perhaps they could have a movie or two similar to Futurama.
