Les Gones: Lyon FC 07/08 || Staff Movement

Ok now that im back from hunting its time to get this started. I will probably be recapping each month at a time, or maybe each week, I havent really decided, either way there won't be recaps of each game, just the more significant ones. Also keep in mind that I will be taking into consideration any offers that I receive from other teams so this may not be a Lyon story the entire time.

A bit of background info on Lyon for those of you who don't know; founded in 1899 Lyon is currently perhaps the strongest side in France having who the League Title the past 6 years. Commonly known as Les Gones, Lyon have a healthy rivalry with Saint-Étienne, while also having secondary rivalries with AS Monaco, Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.

European Ambitions; due to Lyon's recent domination in the League 1, they have been a common fixture in the European Champions League of late. However these ambitions have never been realised past the quarter finals which will be the emphasis of this season.

I will be adopting a transfer policy similar to that of Arsene Wenger of Arsenal, in that I will look to build the team through buying talented youth and bringing them through the ranks, whilst trying not to overspend on any single player. However I will not be as stubborn as Wenger and will happily bring in older or more pricy players if the situation requires it.

Anyway the squad and first XI will be posted soon.

Today it was announced by Olympique Lyonnais chairman Jean-Michel Aulas that they had terminated the contract of newly appointed manager Alain Perrin and instead opted to sign an untested and first time manager Mark Moore. Addressing the press Aulas stated; "We are grateful for the work that Alain did for us during his short time at the club, but unfortunately we realised that we are heading in a different direction, and it was better to end the relationship before we got too close to the start of the season."

Moore will look to bring a new look to the Lyon team. While he has been quoted saying he doesnt plan to shake the team up too much initially, it would be a safe to assume that he will be pushing for a younger looking squad. One of Moore's chief philosophies is to bring players through from a young age, and try to snap up young talent where possible. Looking at the current Lyon side many will be wondering which players are going to find favour with the new manager, however it looks apparent that the young stars such as Karim Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa will be seeing a lot of time on the pitch this season.

Moore will be set to announce his 1st team squad in the next few days.

Newly appointed Lyon manager Mark Moore has already made a big splash, announcing today that he had made huge changes to the backroom staff of the club releasing no fewer than 6 of the clubs exisiting coaches, along with the current assisstant manager. All the terminations were agreed apon by both parties, with most of the departing staff citing that they wanted to work under more experienced management. In a club press conference Moore stated; "This is a new era for the club and I intend to take a new angle with how I manage the team. A large number of the exisiting staff did not want work in that situation so we came to agreements that suited all parties concerned. I wish the departing staff the best in their future endevours, and thank them for the contributions to the club in the past."

Moore then went on to introduce the new staff that are to be added to the backroom. Included in the additions was scout Bojan Krkic, father of highly rated Barcelona youngster, Bojan. This only adds more fuel to the rumors that Moore is chasing Bojan and looking to lure him to the Les Gones. The new assisstant manager to be appointed is the talented Ricardo Moniz who arrives from Tottenham Hotspurs.

Summary of staff transfers



In other club news the board has announced the clubs transfer budget for the season the amount is believed to be in the region of £26m. However it is widely known that Moore will be given a large amount of freedom to tweak the finances of the club to increase the budget if he wishes.

Hey guys, need some advice. Im not finding this Lyon save nearly as entertaining as I have my previous ones. So im thinking of changing this to an Arsenal story as I never get tired of playing as them, I will still post this story of course, just it will be with a different team.

Post the story of how you changed teams, like you were caught with the team president's wife or sth.
