College Hoops 2K8

Sun Jan 13, 2008 9:36 am

I have NBA 2k8 for the 360 and I'm thinking to get Choops because I heard you could import draft class and such for Assoc Mode.

So my question is, is it worth it?

Nope. None of the players have their actual names, and the draft order ends up being way different. (Kevin Durant was overall 73 and a 2nd rounder when imported to 2K7) Unless you have time to rename every potential prospect and give them more realistic attributes, I'd say don't do it.

You could rename them?

So what is the only thing retained when imported?

Btw, thanks for the response

I'd disagree. I'd say it is worth it provided you download an up-to-date patch that updates player names & ratings via 2k Share through XBox Live.

The thing with Durant was he was very underrated & I'm not sure if Lamrock took the time to update his ratings to be more like real life or downloaded a roster. Durant was after all, a lot better than anyone expected, especially with his body & all.

I have College Hoops 2k8 with updated name rosters with some of the freshmen ratings & such updated, like Beasley, Rose, Mayo etc rated up to high 80's instead of high 70's. It should make a difference I think.

So I'd say it's worth it, but only if you like the college game & would play it too. Seems like a lot of money & effort just to get draft classes. But if you're hardcore into your NBA 2k8 dynasty, then you may be willing to do it.

If you're in doubt, go over to Operation Sports forums, as I know they'd know more about it than me....

EDIT: With 2k Share I think all you do is have to connect up to Xbox Live through it & you get to access other people from around the World (mostly USA) & get the rosters that they have personally taken the time to update all the names & such.

Yes, I read about the 2kshare stuff.

Well, I'm not an avid fun of College basketball but I could certainly give it a try because I really want an awesome dynasty and all in NBA 2k8.

So thanks, The X.

So 2Kshare allows for download of different region rosters for 360?

Because right now, region lock is the only thing that's between me buying a 360 over a PS3.

Elbeen, just get the draft classes from O.S. to import to nba2k8. The draft will be off somewhat, but at least you will have the real players names. To hell with buying the game if you don't even like college basketball.

Yes, I agree with Ryan's sentiments....if you were actually going to play the college game, then buy it....but if it's just for draft classes, you can get nba 2k8 draft classes from other people's legacies that they've uploaded....thanks to Ryan for pointing that out, I forgot completely about that....

sorry, I dunno....I own a PS3 so I couldn't tell you....if you are outside US like me, then you might have to go the route I went & get a PS3....

but if you're just after draft classes, it's worth trying to get them through 2k Share first....

Download eh? Well, I don't have a transfer kit and a memory card as of now but I think I'll still trade for the game because I'm going to go to EB Games right now and trade in some old games from the Playstation.

And I think I'll enjoy College Basketball if ever I get a chance to watch one :?.

Edit: So I went to EB Games and didn't give me good enough value for my games so I'll just probably buy this thing - http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/MAX- ... X3610.aspx to get the draft class and such.
