Guitar Hero 3

I am thinking about getting GH3 for PS3 or PC probably PS3 (depending on my question)

I was wondering if there are songs that people have made that you can download. If so Is there more for the PC?

well after getting my hands on GH3 for the PC I immediately made it so the Rock Band guitar would work with it (even the finger tapping) and I started taking out the many songs I didnt like in GH3 and started to import my favorite songs from GH1, 2, and 80's edition.

There are a couple of tools over at scorehero.com and if you want me to help you out with this stuff I'd be glad to. But just so you know, the guitar that comes with the PC version isnt really good.

How did you import songs from previous GH? I thought 3 was the only one for pc.

heh heh heh, there is a PC game called Frets on Fire which is a GH clone. Someone converted all of the PS2 GH songs for that and the program for GH3 converts these songs for use in GH3.


So someone converted GH songs for FoF. Then we are converting these FoF songs to the new GH3 formats.

Let's say I got it for PS3. Where do I download the addon songs? I saw people playing All long the watchtower by Jimmy Hendrix and Shine by collective soul on youtube. I want these songs lol.

well, getting those on the PS2 require a modded PS2 or having some way to play burned discs like the swap magic disc set. that is the way I played custom songs but with the PC version you dont have to deal with burning discs and can change messed up or mistimed note charts easier. And yea those songs you mentioned will work with the PC version.


As for the PS3/360 versions, I think people were looking to see if they could hack the demos to play custom songs or hack the Downloadable Content packs to include their custom songs but I dont think anything ever came to be from both of those methods.
