Well they certainly don't need him to shoot as often, and they
REALLY don't need him in the point guard duties. In fact, I've never really understood why Eddie Jordan plays the guy who defers from the scheme more then anyone else on the team at point guard. It really pisses me off too because I run the Princeton offense with all the teams I coach and I hate seeing the one team that runs the pure version of it ruin it by misusing Gilbert.
Gilbert would actually be perfect playing the 2 guard with a guy like Marquis Daniels playing the point. Someone who isn't going to look for his shot all that often, but can create for himself and others. The Princeton offense is perfect for a tall point guard like Marquis too, he could average 10 assists per game in Washington.
