Adidas NBA Live 08 Shoe - Gilbert Arenas

Postby JohnnyLi on Tue Dec 25, 2007 9:06 am

Have you guys seen the NBA Live 08 shoe in Gilbert's shoe lineup? Here's a link.

And a big picture:

It got a small mention on Gilbert's blog, and I didn't notice it until I read the article again.

This specific model was meant to be worn on December 13th as part of Arenas ongoing Gil II Zero campaign, however he recently went under the knife to repair a partially torn meniscus and effectively sidelining him for the next 3 months.

Ouch. Loosing dollaz always hurts.

I don't know what to think about Arenas anymore,Washington seems to do as good/bad without Arenas as with him in the lineup.

That's a bad looking shoe. I like the first ones better.

That's because Washington runs the Princeton offense. Having a guy that dominates the ball like Gil is the total opposite of what Washington is trying to do. Gil breaks down a lot of plays or takes shots that aren't in the flow of that offense. With him out, they can run it the way it is meant to be run, and they are getting tons of open looks as it is designed to do.

Yep, that's true. But that raises the question whether they need Arenas that much or not, or need him to take that much shots at least.

I wonder if its as incomplete as the videogame? Maybe it could be missing shoelaces or cyanides...

Well they certainly don't need him to shoot as often, and they REALLY don't need him in the point guard duties. In fact, I've never really understood why Eddie Jordan plays the guy who defers from the scheme more then anyone else on the team at point guard. It really pisses me off too because I run the Princeton offense with all the teams I coach and I hate seeing the one team that runs the pure version of it ruin it by misusing Gilbert.

Gilbert would actually be perfect playing the 2 guard with a guy like Marquis Daniels playing the point. Someone who isn't going to look for his shot all that often, but can create for himself and others. The Princeton offense is perfect for a tall point guard like Marquis too, he could average 10 assists per game in Washington.

Indy's boner with Marquis continues..

Maybe Eddie Jordan, like the other coaches, thinks that Arenas is too small at SG.

For some reason I find Indy's post funny and disturbing at the same time.

The Pacers announcer Reb Porter has been saying that when Quis hits a 3 lately. Its been quite the topic of discussion among players and the media. Jamaal Tinsley doesn't address him any other way anymore.

Which is why he'd be good next to a 6'6 point like Marquis.
