We'll have to wait and see. Seabass should be one tough bugger to impress, so...

And woot, I can FTP FIFA 07 patches onto my hacked Xbox. I'll have to get my real CD and copy it onto the hard-drive, but at least the gameplay will be better and I can install some good graphics patches.

one time i was watching championship gaming series, it was a FIFA 07 match on PC..
The other guy got a throw in midway in his opponents half..He threw it directly at goal and his opponents keeper just watched it roll into the goal..The other guy was like WTF

I hope this problem is not in FIFA 08

^ That sucks. There goes the chances of winning the gaming event.

Anyway, speaking of current-gen FIFA 07...

Which gameplay patch do you guys recommend using? Right now, I'm using NK Football's WE 2008. The improved CPU AI is very nice, but the shooting mechanics make it hard for anything to go close (even when open)unless it's at close range...which limits offensively.

Are there enough people on here that plays FIFA 08 on the PS3 to create a small tournament/league?

Can you only play against the same console (PS3 v PS3), or can xbox players also play? Cause that would be cool.

I picked up this game about a week ago, and only really had a chance to play it yesterday. Lots of fun! Still trying to get the hang of dribbling tricks and timing for crosses etc., but I had a lot of fun playing last night. The Be A Pro mode was really good as well! Haven't played anything like that before and it taught me a lot about soccer as I'm new to watching the sport.

Na, you can only play against the same console. Which is too bad, but understandable.

I've only played two Be A Pro games so far, but it seems like a great feature. Especially when the Online co-op Be A Pro will be available..

The X, didn't think i'd see many other people that enjoy watching the A-League... i was thinking of getting it for 360 cause of the A-League, but played the demo and couldnt see a huge difference, so i dont think i'll get it...

yeah, I dunno, I just enjoy it....after years of having league, AFL, union & cricket thrown in my face by the Australian media, it's a refreshing change....I'll probably go watch Roar game against Melbourne on Friday week with some guys from work, so should be alright....I think what's helping me watch non-Roar games is that I'm in a A League Dream Team competition & am 72nd overall (out of like 28,000 people) I think....if I can climb up to number 1, I'm $5,000 richer :P

Very cool X, how high are you ranked overall? And do you wanna play a game? To quote Kenny vs. Spenny: Glory for the Winner, Humiliation for the looser

Sorry Andreas, I'm not online on PS3 yet. I've been too busy to give it a whirl. As for how good I am at FIFA '08, pretty crap. It's been a long time between drinks so to speak. I was pretty good at FIFA '01 but haven't really played it since then, so have got to get use to all the new controls. Once I get half decent & online, I'll look you up to pad your stats

Be A Pro mode sounds hella corny... so you can be anyone on any team?

And is the A-League reflect the one in real life?

of course it reflects the real life one, what else would it reflect?!? :?

The online (5 vs 5) Be A Pro is now out. I've only played one game so far, but it's pretty awesome (y)

Fri Nov 09, 2007 6:30 am

I actually haven't given Be A Pro a go yet....it sounds good....to be able to control just the one player like you would if playing IRL sounds sweet....it's probably more a feature that you'd play online with....

I meant, does it accurately reflect it? :D

yeah, I'd say so....they have all correct kits....the generic player likenesses aren't too bad....the rosters are close to the real thing at opening date....ratings are a little harsh (Melbourne & Sydney are top rated teams with 1 & 1/2 stars out of 5, with every other team being 1 star out of 5)....since it's not a high profile league & there are so many players to rate, you'll find a lot are underrated, especially in specific categories (ie. the young Roar duo of Zullo & Kruse should be quite quick, but ratings don't reflect that, but that's probably because they weren't even on bench at start of season)....whilst I think the players & teams deserve higher ratings, it's alright that it is underrated....

would be good to see some Suncorp (Brisbane) & Westpac (Wellington) stadiums in there, but ahh well, things to look forward to in the future....still good though....I played as Phoenix against Roar last night & lost 0-1, so perhaps a precursor to this week's game....
