I don't know if you were referring to my post but here goes:

I never said and I don't feel my musical taste is superior because I listen to the Beatles (I actually don't listen to them that much but whatever), I just think that, today, Rock music and music in general isn't as good as it was in the second half of the twentieth century.

I'm flinging crap as usual, but it wasn't directed at you. I just want to vent about people who want to put themselves on a pedestal because they have different musical tastes from everyone else.

3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Shallow Be Thy Game

I can't believe I didn't see this before... However, I love that album (and that song particularly). It's my favorite RHCP album, even though the guitar parts aren't that great (you can clearly hear Dave Navarro is not as good as John Frusciante. Composing and playing.).

Dave Navarro hasnt got anything on Frusciante.. Frusciante is in my opinion, one of the greatest guitarists ive heard.. Hes amazing.. Joe, have you seen the Peppers live at Slane DVD?

Thats not new from Kanye at all, actually. He's been sampling other peoples stuff since you heard his beats on Jay-Z's blueprint album. Yes he does it well, but Kanye is not as original as people make him seem. DJ Premier was doing the same thing for years, just never got that love Kanye did because he never rapped. Primo pwns Kanye anyday.

Totally agree with you, Dean. I mean, John's probably the only guitarist that uses a Fender Stratocaster that I like. He's great.

You should check out his solo albums and the covers he does.

I've seen the Slane Castle concert. Both of them (2001 and 2003). I didn't like the first one much since the Chili Peppers weren't the headliner but the 2003 one, man, that was like the greatest gig ever. I've borrowed the DVD from some dude at school like two years ago and I haven't returned it yet.

The intros to every song were absolutely amazing. Not to mention the fact that RHCP's performance was preceded by those of the Queens of the Stone Age and the Foo Fighters (these obviously aren't on the Live at Slane DVD but you can find them on the net).

Yeah, it's one of my favourites because its the last album where flea really gets a lot of shine. The next few albums his bass playing is sort of phased out (although still an important ingredient) of their sound over the years. I also like the progressive direction the band went with the band. I think it was that album alone that got me into a lot of prog rock like Tool, Rush and some of Muse.

Actually, as much as I dislike Mr. West, in this case it's not like he just ripped it off. Daft Punk worked with him on the track to an extent, and does approve of it.

I have absolutely no facts to back this up but...I assume originally West was just going to "borrow" it like usual, but when he asked Daft Punk said they wanted to be involved. I could be wrong, but I'm sure I saw somewhere they they had a hand in the "remix" of the music.

And some great local rock bands like Wolfgang and Razorback, plus some Lokomotiv will make my day a few decibels louder.

I even have Motorhead's cover of Enter Sandman, but it ain't that good. Their lead singer seems to spit his throat out.

STP's Dead and Bloated is from their first album, so Scot Weiland doesn't sound like some husky guy on that song.

Yeah we have ones like that, but not near where i live.. I normally cant get any good cds unless i go to Sydney, which is 3 hours away.. Last time i went there i spent $250 on CDs at JB Hi Fi
