Meh... help.

Reinstalled xp pro a couple weeks back on my gf's laptop, and I guess up till now, its been working, well, as it should. But I was on it late last night and realized something peculiar. Every hour, precisely on the hour, morrowind in this case, but whatever program is running at the time will be minimized. Not even closed out, just minimized. A virus and spyware scan has turned up nothing. I dunno if this is an old problem or not because I havent had any viruses/spyware on my machines since like 03. Does this sound familiar to any of you and if so how do you get rid of it... Uber annoying.

Doesn't sound familiar at all. You might possibly have to reinstall because files might of not been installed correctly. Go to http://www.computerforum.com/ <---They can help you with any problem you seem to be having because I've had bad problems in the past and they've helped me.

Have you rebooted since then? It's the best catch-all solution in many cases.

If so, make sure you don't have any Scheduled Tasks under Control Panel. Also, make sure you've disabled anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while you play - you'll probably get a boost in performance as well.

Thanks guys, Il check out that computerforums site to see what they say.. Ive restarted several times since then, as its not an always on machine anyway.... problem persists. Only thing running in the background is pinnacle game profiler (which ROCKS by the way), windowblinds, the intel wireless network manager, and the generic windows crap. depending on what im doing ill disable the network card and turn off the firewall/anti-v stuff if i dont particularly need it, (non-online games, photoshop... shit like that).

But in either sorts, ill keep searching, again its a major nuisance more than anything else, she probably never would have even noticed it. If I find out anything I'll be a douche and bump the topic.
