Shit, so your career didn't properly get going until you were 32.

I always had art jobs, but they were just stepping stones. After two weeks at my current job, I knew I'd be here a long time. This is the first company I worked for that treats their artists like human beings. Many places don't. I freelance from time-to-time, and trying to get money from some of these companies is like squeezing water out of a rock. One dude owed me $1000. It took me nearly a f-n year to finally get paid.

I've visited NY this summer and its a great place to visit, but I don't think I would really want stay there. At least not in Manhattan because it would be WAY too expensive unless I was rich. I like the fact that there is always something to do though and its very hard to get bored because there is always something going on.

Don't even think about living in Manhattan unless you have mad, mad loot - the rents are ridiculous. You wind up paying thousands a month to live in a friggin' closet and the parking lot fees are outrageous. Manhattan's for the very rich or the very poor(who live in subsidized housing).

You're better off living in the outer boroughs, Long Island, Westchester or New Jersey, and commuting into the city.

So how does it feel that your beloved Knicks will never win a championship again in your lifetime?

How come New York Police Officers are paid so little? They are some of the finest this country has and yet they are paid little to nothing. What makes it even worse is they require their officers to live in New York City which is an extremely expensive place to live (like you said) and that just adds to the troubles. To top it all off, if you are involved in some kind of legal case they will not have your back. No wonder they are desperate for police officers.

Sorry for going off topic, Doobie. Just a little rant.

NYPD are not required to live in New York City. At least not all of them are.
