Excatly. Darrent Williams was a cornerback for the Denver Broncos who was gunned down outside a club in Denver on New Years Eve. They still haven't found those who are responsible.

yeah that really pissed me off too, especially being a Broncos fan. that's one of the reasons why I hate ESPN. on a slow news day, they'll report on T.O. taking a shit or something and spin it to make him look bad or something like that. I cannot stand sportscenter.

There is such an anti Hilary sentiment where I live, it's sickening. As racist as the south is, it is equally against women's rights as well. People here don't even have reason or basis behind disliking Hilary. They just scoff at the idea of her running for President. Why? I've asked SO many people why, but they just never can give me a real answer other than a chuckle.

Anyone who knows anything about politics knows Hilary is a very intelligent woman who has experience.

As for me, I'm voting for Obama in the primaries. I know my vote doesn't really count living in the south, but I'm going to vote anyway. I really wish they'd do away with the electoral college. I tend to side with the democrats, and so it's really sad to think that regardless of which democrat is running, my vote will never count for shit. It's been years since NC voted democrat.

Christopherson wrote:Amen my brother, amen. In my mind, the most racist people are the ones who are always pointing out the difference between black and white. Take the Super Bowl, for instance. I saw it as two coaches, not two black coaches.

I think people who are constantly forcing things so that minorities get special treatment are only keeping racism alive.

Are you kidding me? The first female or black president would be a Monumental achievement for this country, and you would be in favor of simply letting it go unnoticed? The simple fact that we have a black man and a woman running in the same election is a great achievement in itself. Dare say if either Hilary or Obama wins, it would be such a great advancement for America, that it should be celebrated by ALL Americans.

I'm all in favor of abolishing affirimative action and doing away with political correctness, but this is something much more than that.

Actually, no.

This country was founded on religious freedom. If you've ever read the Declaration of Independence, or the Constution, you'll find that there is no reference to the Christian god, Jehovah. Both documents are religiously fused, but they are general in their references. "Our creator" for example, is generic, and 'god' is as well. God was actually a common noun, which has been morphed over time to a proper noun representing Jehovah.

I hate when people claim that our country was founded in Christianity. It was not. Thomas Jefferson was likely a deist. Although the majority of our founding fathers were Christian, it was not their aim to make our country a Christian only nation.

I'm worried about having a female candidate or a black candidate for a few reasons. One reason is that I see potential for reverse descriminiation. I could see one getting elected not because of the fact that they are female or black, but for the fact that they aren't a white male. That isn't right. We need to elect the best candidate regaurdless of race, gender, etc. I also worry for these candidates and the questions we asked them. I know this is way more important than a Super Bowl, but seeing Dungy have to answer questions like, "How does it feel to be the first black coach to win the Super Bowl?" You could tell he was a little disapointed in these questions. Almost to the point of being insulted. He just wanted to be looked at as a football coach. That is they way it should be with these presidential candidates.

As far as people saying this country was founded on Christian morals and beliefs. They are right. This country was founded on religous freedom, yes, but most of our laws could be considered to have a Christian basis. Laws against things like stealing and killing, etc in this country reflect Christian viewpoints. The morals we have held sacred since 1776, things like marriage and family are Christian morals. This is what people mean when they say our counrty was founded on Christianity. They mean Christian morals and values rather than other cultural morals and values.

Laws against things like stealing and killing, etc in this country reflect Christian viewpoints.

And you're trying so say what? That those viewpoints are exclusive to Christianity?

well he didn't use the best examples but I do agree with him. This country is pretty conservative.
