College Experiences.

Well I made this thread so I can find out about some experiences you might go through in college. Good or bad. Homesickness? Party stories? How hard are classes? Stuff like that I wanna be ready.

Well. I kind of overloaded a little and took 21 credits as a first semester freshman (max 18). I did fairly well though, but those classes caused me to miss practice, which meant I didn't get much practice time during the season. All those classes made me sleep very little as well. I chilled out with 16 and 16 the following 2 semesters. This upcoming semester I'll most likely drop one of my 3 credit classes and go down to 16 as well.

I say don't take too little classes, and for you since you are considering transfering, take the classes that will count for credit after you graduate. No point in taking classes that will just be wasted afterwards.

Homesickness happens early, and you'll want to be home or something when it gets a bit rough, but after the first month or so, most people get used to it. College is a LOT more freedom. And hardness of classes I found are not guaranteed. Some people recommend you to take this class or whatnot cause the professor is easy, but that is not always the case. I mean, just don't like go drinking every night, and most importantly, show up to classes.

Its just a bigger version of high school.

Doobie it depends where you go and who're living with and alot of things to make a good story. You'll learn the people you surround yourself with make the college experience either shit or amazing. Be prepared for extreme states of exhaustion..I dont feel like sharing any of my stories just quite yet but you should check out a book by Aaron Karo called Ruminations on College Life; its pretty damn accurate.

I'll be graduating in three months from university, and I can tell you that it's a lot harder which requires a lifestyle change. High school, you can get by without studying too much and miss some classes, but in university, miss a class, and you could be potentially screwed (fall behind more than you could handle) and the homework is insane. For every 3 hours of class time, 3-6 hours of homework. So yeah, every day, including weekends, you could be just focused on school. Like I said, it's a lifestyle change, but really, take lots of breaks, and devote a day or two every two weeks to just doing absolutely nothing/party/relax otherwise you'll go insane.

I'm not much of a party person either, so but what I can say based on what I've seen and heard, generally frat guys and party people don't end up doing well in university unless they're naturally intelligent, which isn't common at all.

In short, work hard and be dedicated, through the good classes and the bad classes.
